My latest addition to "No inflation": Need new air conditioner. Pretty simple, as all connections are already in place, from the old machine. So get a labor-only quote today, for 8 hours...SIXTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS! Math whizzes, that's $200 an hour! Who the fuck makes that? What planet am I on?

So went grocery shopping today, and realized that I am paying at least 20% more for my groceries than I was last year. I like steak, always have. It went from $22 a lb. to $29 a lb. in two weeks! Ordinary hamburger is up to $7.25 lb. How is a family of 5 going to have meat on the table? Hunt for it?
