I just voted against funding for DHS, ICE, and Trump’s lawless administration. We need to defund ICE, get them out of our communities, and abolish this violent agency. Not one more nickel for Trump and his MAGA minions.

Hey has anybody heard anything about support or relief efforts from the NFL franchise to whom we gave $2 billion that we could have spent burying power lines instead?

If this isn’t about gay hockey players I’m suing Apple

Accidentally wandered into a Mike Illich worship thread. “He paid Rosa Parks’ rent”, “He fed the homeless.” Sorry you don’t need to be a billionaire to do things like that. I just not a fan of people who intentionally destroy cities. lsa.umich.edu/sid/detroite...

The revolution will most definitely include rogue traffic calming
south minneapolis residents set up their own traffic calming makeshift roundabout, building a campfire to keep warm as they guarded the intersection “ICE GO HOME” written on a sign nearby

NDOT Update —>

Snow removal crews have been diverted to assist NES with power restoration. NES and NDOT are fully coordinating. NES will disconnect power. NDOT will clear. NES will reconnect. Working in loops not on top of each other. This should help speed up power. /1

Most of Parkwood got new metal electrical poles this summer. It's likely why most of us had power the whole time even thought trees fell everywhere.

Infrastructure is safety. We need buses and power, not Cameras and tanks.

Let people celebrate that a ghoul got got instead of immediately pointing out that the fascist fucks are still everywhere, the work isn't finished, etc etc. We know. We get to spike the football too.

To their credit, @nolympicsla.bsky.social has been clear-eyed from the very beginning that sports mega-events like the Olympics embolden & further empower ICE. It's right there in one of their logos.

One thing that irks me: people keep calling the folks on the streets in Minneapolis protestors. They are not generally there to protest, they are there to observe and document. This is the product of organizing and mutual aid. It is telling that these acts of citizenship are seen as protest!

The reason Nashville is one of the only cities in the entire country that doesn't have license plate readers is because of community members fighting like hell over the past 5ish years to protect our neighbors. No matter how exhausted we are, we will never, ever give up this fight.

I got on the bus full of anxiety. But towards the end of my ride, i watched the bus driver calmly and professionally maneuver the bus through super tight spaces, and it leveled me out. I made sure to tell her “good driving today”. Hopefully that didn’t sound patronizing as i genuinely meant it.

First time I’ve ever seen WeGo do this
WeGo crews have already been out applying salt at bus stops, and will continue to treat them throughout the weekend.

However, be cautious walking to stops because plowing operations often push big snow piles up onto the sidewalks, creating hazardous conditions.

It's genuinely a leaderless (or leaderful) movement, decentralized in a way that the state is absolutely unequipped to handle. There are a few basic skills involved, and so people teach each other those skills, and people are collectively refining them.

There is going to come a time in your life when you are chatting with a guy, at a barbecue or something, a new coworker maybe, a dad at school drop off, and he tells you he used to be in ICE. You’re going to need to spit on that guy
Minnesota: "School officials say the [5-year-old] child was used as bait. They say [ICE] agents made little Liam knock on the door to ask to be let in in order to see if anyone else was home."

Enterprise - a St. Louis based company - is renting 1,000+ vehicles to ICE in MN. We're showing up at their HQ tomorrow to tell them hell no they can't just support fascism and not get called out for it. STL stands with MN. #ICEOUT
St. Louis DSA and other orgs across the area are standing in solidarity with Minnesotans this Friday. We’re pressuring Enterprise, a ICE contractor. Use your power to fight back against ICE and support the general strike in MN! Get more info and stay in the loop here: act.stldsa.org/ice-out-stl-...

ICE are abducting 5 year olds, using them as bait to get to their family, and shipping them to a Texas concentration camp all in a single day.

We need a Nuremberg for everyone involved. Abolish ICE isn't enough.

Most of the detentions in our region are starting with local police departments calling in their fed buddies. It's the whole damn system, and we need folks to get it so we can build something out of the rubble that actually works for all of us.
