You know you guys don't have to follow the minutiae of budget negotiations, right? Like, I'm not making a joke here, if the text of the agreement doesn't matter, then it doesn't matter, why are we obsessing over whether the wording is sufficiently stern or not?
this is simultaneously much more than i expected and not nearly enough. IF the Reps abided by this it would make things LESS awful but i just don't see why we'd expect them to abide by any agreement they make once they have cash in hand

The Dodgers haven't formally accepted an invitation yet, but the expecation is they will visit the White House to celebrate their World Series title, as the California Post reported. The team declined comment.

in real terms, #7 would give states leverage to put an end to surges, #8 would give states the ability to outright stop construction of new detention facilities, #1 and #6 would slow the rate at which DHS could train and deploy officers, #2 and #10 would likely shrink the pool of recruits

Just the dumbest mother fucker
Trump: I hate even talking about ICE. 2 people out of tens of thousands and you get bad publicity.

Host: But it was 2 Americans who died—

Trump: We have the smallest trucks. We've been very tough on the waters

Host: The waters?

Trump: The waters where we knock out boats

Crazy story: A bank analyst published a report showing Kalshi users lose money even faster than sports gamblers, so Kalshi first tried to pressure the data provider to change their data and then accused them and the analyst of conspiring to extort them when that doesn’t work.

The war on work from home is in large part a war on women having a career btw
Roughly half a million women in the US exited the workforce in 2025, and 42% of those who voluntarily left cited their caregiving responsibilities as the main reason, according to a recent survey from Catalyst.

In a tight employment market, employers that offer less flexibility risk losing working caregivers, according to a Catalyst report.

"he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment."

Not impeachment and removal, just impeachment. I think a strong argument can be made that anyone who participated in an act that led to impeachment cannot be pardoned.
we should proceed with prosecutions with the presumption that the president cannot pardon crimes he ordered to occur while simultaneously advancing court-packing legislation.
It's so cool how we just accept that federal accountability is dead and the president will just pardon any federal crimes as easily as he pardoned everyone for January 6, and we just live with this fact instead of tearing down the rest of the White House around him.

No, stop it. You don't really believe Democrats would defect on impeachment if 25 GOP flipped, & the way you know this is that every Senate Democrat voted <twice> to convict Trump in impeachment trials the last time around. You can be unhappy with Dems on policy issue X & still know 👇 is nonsense.
If 25 Republicans flipped, Schumer would find 25 Democrats to flip the other way. Haven't you noticed how this game is played? The Dems don't want to help you. They want to help their Republican friends. They don't work for you. They work for the corporations and billionaires who own both parties.

i agree with this, as long as by “take accountability” you mean “prepare your horrid souls for damnation because you will find no quarter on this Earth”
Democrats want commonsense reform for ICE:

End the roving patrols and racial profiling.

Take accountability and abide by the same rules as local police.

Masks need to come off, body cameras need to stay on—no secret police in the United States of America.

Philidelphia DA Larry Krasner warns ICE: If an agent commits crimes in Philly, I will charge you. You will be arrested. You will stand trial, and you will be convicted in state or federal court and you will do your time. Donald Trump can't pardon you for a state court conviction.

Again, I know everyone wants to yell at The Democrats & Chuck Schumer & Hakeem Jefferies, but there are 10-25 people in Washington who could literally end all of this tomorrow, & none of them are Democrats, & they continue to get 24/7 free passes for being absolute oath-violating cowards. Focus.
Yes, we’re looking at you, Lisa Murkowski & Susan Collins & Thom Tillis, you absolute oath-violating cowards.
These 5 people could caucus with the Democrats, giving them a majority & firmly opposing the fascism, any time. It might be nice for an enterprising journalist to ask them why they keep not doing this every day as the crimes & corruption continue & John Thune refuses to fulfill his oath of office.

Remember the incident where DHS claimed officers shot a guy because he attacked them with a snow shovel?

Yeah. It didn't happen. They shot him through the door of his own home. And then arrested him. And then lied about it. Again.

And they almost shot some kids in the process.
They just blindly shot through the fucking door.
