I dont have followers so dunno why I’m posting (stop prefacing your posts like this), but increasingly feel like the primaries are going to matter in 26 and 28 in so much more than any other election in my lifetime (I guess GOP in ‘16, but in a bad way)

Krishnamoorthi winning IL-SEN and Craig winning MN-SEN would be so bleak, the former would be at best a lateral move from Durbin and the latter would be a downgrade from Smith
Maine with an ancient filibuster fan looking favored, Illinois with a crypto guy with more money than God, Michigan at risk of splitting the vote for Haley Stevens, Minnesota maybe going to Angie Craig, no big primary challenges materializing other than Moulton to Markey. don't like it

I certainly wasn’t a huge fan (mostly not that familiar with NYC politics so grain of salt here)—would have ranked him 5th (behind Myrie, Adams, Blake, and Lander) but I’m being negatively polarized into liking Mamdani.

there is no jurisprudence at work here. the republican court believes that anything a republican president is presumptively constitutional, even if it directly violates the unambiguous constitutional text and causes total chaos in law and policy.

I wasn’t gonna post about my reading but it feels relevant (wrt Iran strikes) that in @profgabriele.com‘s very fine Oathbreakers, the feuding Frankish parties played at fighting many many times, only for the rivalry to subside when one side blinked.
