The run of Filmmaker Magazine under Scott & Vadim produced some of the most fascinating and important work on understanding indie film in terms of economics, technology, and the actual stakes of art. I was honored to write for Vadim, easily one of the best editors I've worked with. Hire Vadim!
Some news: I'm being laid off! After 11+ years and 48 issues, Friday will be my last day. I'm 100% looking for work and definitely not married to being in film. I have many transferable corporate/organizational skills. Email is first dot last at gmail

I left my baby with my dad and my husband while I worked today and when I got back, they were deep in a heated debate about John vs Paul.

Okay the dogs of Bluesky are unbothered, I’m going in!!!
Does anyone have an induction cooktop? How bad is the “painful, high-pitch” ringing, exactly? Would one want to avoid magnetostriction around a baby, for example??? I’ve read it bothers dogs???

anyways i think it's kind of wild how quickly we went from "be careful, that shark in the flooded city is from a different hurricane" to "nearly every piece of media about this world event is fake and also we took the fake media and made it nude also we added more explosions"

Paleodictyon is a 500-million-year-old trace fossil from an unknown organism. In the last 50 years, we've found their honeycomb traces on the seafloor. There is a living organism that has been doing its thing for half a billion years.
Recovery of Paleodictyon patterns after simulated mining activity on Pacific nodule fields - Marine Biodiversity
Since the late 1980s, various experiments have been conducted in polymetallic nodule fields of the Pacific Ocean to assess the potential environmental impacts of future mining, specifically in two are...
