One of the best revealing parts of the Wiseman pods is how they look at all the contemporary reviews for the films, and basically from the 70s to BELFAST in 1999 only tv critics are even reviewing the movies. Basically ignored for 20+ years

As in several of James Fitzgerald's paintings (this is from 1930) a human presence is only suggested; the light from the boats interiors lets us know there are people present, there's a quiet partnership suggested here.

I can’t emphasize enough how odd it is that folks have seen TITICUT FOLLIES and maybe HIGH SCHOOL, which I still feel are two of the least representative works of Wiseman’s career. Not that elements aren’t present, but what I adore in his work isn’t as emphasized in those early works as in others.
