One last plug: This week I explored this history of the Pohlad Family, who are currently selling the Minnesota Twins. It became so much more than a story of money, but postwar bank fraud, public transit, airline deregulation, and more. Even if you're not a baseball fan, please take a look!
The Pohlad Empire (Part One): Banking On The Future
This week at Twins Daily, we're running a five-part series detailing the history of the business ventures of the Pohlad family. Even as they prepare to sell the Twins after a 40-year ownership, it's a...

The Bin Laden attack (which had its own extrajudicial issues) had public support of 90%. Which is to say being underwater from the get-go is so bad.
"Do you support or oppose the US using military force to overthrow Nicolás Maduro and bring him and his wife to the US to face trial?"

Oppose: 39%
Support: 36%

Unsure: 25%

So much of American history is just impulsive and extremely stupid elites, who don't believe in consequences because they have never personally experienced them, doing highly consequential stuff because they're bored or believe it might make them richer. I guess a lot of our culture, too.

You don't have to listen to these professional liars who are barely trying. 9 months ago they were saying they were powerless to return a man they illegally sent to an El Salvador gulag because it would violate that country's national sovereignty
Vance pushes back and says this was not illegal, arguing "Maduro has multiple indictments in the United States for narcoterrorism. You don't get to avoid justice for drug trafficking in the United States because you live in a palace in Caracas."

A lot of people forget how in 2004 the Bush regime kidnapped the democratically elected President of Haiti, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, and dumped him in Africa.
Is there any modern precedent for abducting a head of state?

Plenty of examples of coups, assassinations and domestic trials, including show trials, but this is like a Crusader Kings plot.

there’s no plan except to try and take the oil, we are lead by lunatics with no morals and no sense of law
FOX & FRIENDS: What do you think is next for the Venezuelan people now that you have removed Maduro so he can face American justice?

TRUMP: Well, we're making that decision now. We can't take a chance on letting somebody else run it, just take over where he left off. So we're making that decision

After the Amnity Island attack, political scientists published In Jaws’ Wake: How Our Politics Failed Us, which argued that the response to the shark was worse than the shark itself, in particular the economic devastation from shutting down the beaches and from children suffering from “fun loss.”

wsj does a lot of great reporting, but sometimes they are definitely tipping some scales about which story is more important

A good example of true Bari-ism: California has also banned cellphones in schools, as have many states. They could interview Newsom or someone from LAUSD, Bbut the goal is to show that DeSantis (who Americans already rejected) is actually the common sense leader.

Technically it earned $0. To avoid any complicated residual procedures, they did tickets for free. If you went to AMC you paid $20 for a snacks voucher.
The ‘STRANGER THINGS’ finale earned $25M-$28M from its run in theaters

Heroes of the East (1978) A husband and wife bicker about about whether Chinese or Japanese styles of fighting are better that the husband angers all the masters of Japan and must duel them all and afterwards they decide both are great + become friends + the wife disappears from the plot. 5 bones

Maybe a little tougher than it should be - need to steam it next time following the rest, and get better at slicing thin - but still not bad for a first try.
