RIP good New Orleans sports vibes, Nov 4 - Nov 11, 2025

No commercial is more relatable as a Jewish dad in south Louisiana who drives a minivan than the Lexus ad with people taking a snowy mountain drive to see family on Christmas.

The Eagles should do a tush push with 14 players and dare the NFL to break their ban on penalizing it.

I know things seem bleak, but Southern Charm and the Vanderpump reboot both are back in the next 4 weeks.

the worst person you know just made three points

Record low murder rate in England and Wales

New this week: I wrote about Memphis. Crime was dropping prior to the Federal deployment in late Sept. While it has fallen fast since, it's not clear if this accelerated drop is due at least in part to a change in reporting practices.

Tulane and Saints won, LSU and Falcons lost. A good weekend.
November 10, 2025 at 2:52 AM
Tyler Shough has as many 30+ yard TD passes in 56 career passing attempts (2) as Spencer Rattler has in 484 attempts.
November 10, 2025 at 12:59 AM
That'll do
November 9, 2025 at 10:50 PM
Record of Saints opponents so far: 54-36 (.600)

Record of remaining opponents: 23-43 (.348)
November 9, 2025 at 9:19 PM
Tyler Shough is the first rookie QB in Saints history to throw for 210+ yards with 2 TDs and 0 INTs in a game.
November 9, 2025 at 8:47 PM
Shough's 282 passing yards today would be the second most in franchise history in a QB's first or second start (Aaron Brooks threw for 441 in his 2nd start)
November 9, 2025 at 8:42 PM
Tyler Shough breaks a streak of 16 straight games where the Saints didn't throw for 260 yards. That was the longest such streak for the franchise since they went 17 games in 1999 and 2000.

Danny Wuerffel started the streak and Aaron Brooks ended it.
November 9, 2025 at 8:32 PM
That is the most karmic turnover in NFL history.
November 9, 2025 at 8:01 PM
If the Times Picayune doesn't run the headline "Shoughed Around, Found Out" after Tyler Shough's first win I'm gonna unsubscribe.

Did not understand that sequence. Saints had all three timeouts, let 20 seconds run off the clock with a minute left on third and 5, then handed it off to Kamara for a gain of 1. Kellen Moore's made a few strange decisions like that one late in halves.
November 9, 2025 at 7:22 PM
Tyler Shough is arguably the best Saints starting quarterback since Spencer Rattler
November 9, 2025 at 6:49 PM
The Saints under Kellen Moore have now had 14 plays where going for it would boost their win probability by more than 0.5%. They've gone for it just 4 times.

Not encouraging!
---> NO (0) @ CAR (7) <---
NO has 4th & 2 at the CAR 2, Q1 02:52

Recommendation (MEDIUM): 👉 Go for it (+1.1 WP)
Actual play: 👟🏈 B.Grupe 21 yard field goal is GOOD, Center-Z.Wood, Holder-K.Kroeger.

YOU'RE 1-8 WHY ARE YOU KICKING A 19 YARD FIELD GOAL
November 9, 2025 at 6:24 PM
It's not even 12:20 and the Saints already have an offsides on a 3rd down incompletion, a roughing call on an interception, and failed to field the kickoff.
November 9, 2025 at 6:20 PM
Fun combination of unlikability and lack of talent on this Saints squad.
November 9, 2025 at 6:15 PM
The reason New Orleans still has professional sports. He deserves a statue. RIP.

Haven't seen a ground game march that effectively in Germany since the Vistula–Oder offensive
