PhD student at OSU AEDE. I study AFOLU emissions reduction schemes and want to study energy. Mostly I used Twitter for politics and space and war stuff, I figure this will be much the same ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Free Soil, Free Labor, Free Men, and less Carbon
No it’s totally true I’m just being whiny. I retract my half-hearted dig at LA (but will leave it up, since someone else seems likely to make the same commentary and your and Nilos rebuttals are good)

Yeah I said I know it’s different! I just think “democracies would plan better”, while accurate, doesn’t *feel* true from the standpoint of me living here. But Im sure Cairo is on another level. I’m just whining

I mean. LA was developed under democracy, and their infrastructure seems… rough (I know, totally different circumstances, different orders of magnitude)

i believe we can—and will—go lower

November 20, 2025 at 6:33 PM
Oh shit that is the uncut pure stuff
November 20, 2025 at 6:12 PM
Anyway if Democrats want to make the changes they need to make to restore after this presidency, they gotta clean house from this shit

Won her special election primary by five (5) votes. Wild.

I think this makes sense for any school beyond liberal arts or similar programs in larger universities. There, I do think you’re looking for a sort of cultural fit. But of course that’s going to have major downsides
November 20, 2025 at 1:10 AM
Intrigued by this. whats the link between these policies? it doesn’t seem obvious to me. Could you spell it out?
November 20, 2025 at 1:05 AM
Realistically it’s gonna be porter though right? Hope her Late turn against NIMBYism is sincere…
November 19, 2025 at 6:20 PM
Just learned this and that’s actually dope as fuck

No senators for president until the office has been cleansed by a (preferably very large) governor who can hold People accountable for their crimes

He’s often wrong (often deeply so), but in his original fields (housing and transportation) he’s usually right.
November 19, 2025 at 6:06 PM
Is it subject to veto?
November 19, 2025 at 6:04 PM
We need to crack -12 I think to start really chipping away at the reach states (IA, TX, KS, NE, AK); I think Ohio’s a little more doable because of the candidate.

But -12 is possible!

It's really hard to imagine that no one considered just clocking him in the face

Is there a serious theological position that doesn't take this position tho? Megachurch theology is shallow and often poorly defined, but I studied with hardcore evangelicals and think any claim that they are not would have been criticized sharply (though people often act as if that's not the case)

In a blue wave year, it's not inconceivable that TX could flip a few seats, maybe even something statewide. Trendlines aren't ideal, but you gotta try somewhere. VA became better over time!
November 17, 2025 at 9:03 PM
I mean, yes and no, right? Many things are true:

1) TX is a red state and won't elect democrats in a neutral environment

2) TX is extremely gerrymandered and while it wouldn't be blue, it'd be much closer to normal with fair maps.

3) TX has urbanized a lot in recent years, like GA
November 17, 2025 at 9:03 PM
Okay, but he actually did do really well in '18. With a good blue wave and a bad candidate, TX absolutely can be close.

Not because we need more resources, but because the cities and suburbs of texas have grown a lot with people who aren't southern whites.

He’s the front runner like Giuliani was the front runner everyone knows him, he’s a household name and a huge portion of the base detests him
November 16, 2025 at 2:54 AM
Conservatives will literally do ethnic cleansing instead of enacting zoning reform
November 13, 2025 at 1:58 PM
Always surreal to see for-profit news out there saying: it's not important, don't follow it. Go back to entertainment we don't get paid for
November 13, 2025 at 1:57 PM
What an unconscionably useless man.
