Legal citizenship should be virtually effortless to obtain and near instantaneous to process, and should be paired with sweeping grants of asylum.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

From this minister's op-ed: "People wanting to experience God are more likely to meet the Divine trying to shut down the Broadview, Illinois, ICE facility than we ever were in church...God does not live in our houses of worship, but...with those who are bearing the brunt of cruelty in this moment."
Oh wow @reuters.com got the photo here:

In listening to Hamilton by Ron Chernow, something that jumped out at me was the prevalence of speculators in the burgeoning republic. In a lot of ways, they were the stock traders of the time, but I was struck by how unhealthily parasitic they were.

These people are speculators.
this is what i mean when i say capitalism is a totalitarian ideology! gambling is the apotheosis of capitalism: self-generating capital, untethered from any kind of production, and it is now subsuming every facet of our lives nymag.com/intelligence...
Gambling Ate Sports Media. Is Politics Next?

I have recently acquired Glory to Rome (the Black Box edition) and am taking it to an all-day board gaming mini-con this weekend. There are signups for people to play.

For such an old game, I was amused by how many people jumped in and were like, "YES, I WANT TO PLAY THIS."

A good reminder for myself and others with ADHD: when you are struggling with it, the first step is ALWAYS forgiving yourself.

So much of why we get trapped and find ourselves unable to act or change is that we get trapped in our shame and guilt spirals...

Apparently today is a day for reminding people that they have worth and value. So if you need reminding of that - you have worth. You have value. You are allowed to take up space.

I'm pretty sure I haven't ran a TTRPG since the beginning of the pandemic & being diagnosed as bipolar. I am GMing #PathfinderSociety tomorrow night at a local game store (shout to to @nobleknightgames.bsky.social) and I am getting pretty jittery about it. I'm sure I'll be fine ... but.

I would be utterly thrilled to rid the Democratic Party of everyone who was pals with Jeffrey fucking Epstein

why exactly would I want a child abuser to make government policy
"This could take down Democrats, too."

I know. And I frankly wouldn't give even an itty bitty damn if it implicated every Democratic man in Congress, every Democratic hopeful for 2028 and every Democrat who has even thought about running for office.

Down with the sex predators, wherever they are.

The bad deal in the Senate jeopardizes everything we’ve been fighting for.

The American people stood with us through this shutdown as we have fought to extend ACA tax credits and keep healthcare affordable for millions of families. To not include it is a disgrace.

Do not cave because of airplanes and the holidays. We can survive with fewer flights and less traveling for the holidays this year if it means more Americans will be able to afford insurance next year.

The most completely mundane replies being hid in my mentions without my consent or control is absolutely ridiculous and outrageous.

@pfrazee.com y’all gotta give us back control of our own accounts this is out of hand.

Literally hid a cat picture someone sent me.

Here's Part Two of my recent interview with the ever-thoughtful @colewehrle.bsky.social . Expect rich ruminations on historical board games, the violation of player agency, and games that are meant to feel bad on the first playthrough: www.wargamer.com/molly-house/...
Board game auteur Cole Wehrle says "Molly House is the most controversial game I've worked on"
"A lot of the core board game audience is playing to master a system or demonstrate some kind of skill - that's not how I play games."

I am amused by my credit card saying, "You left a big tip. Did you mean to do that???"

Of course I meant to do that! It was only 34% - that's well within the realm of reasonable!

This is why Chuck has NO REASON to come back to the table. Let them twist. If you're coming back with wins this big during a shutdown, the people know where their bread is buttered. Don't throw them a lifeline. These aren't tiny margin wins. They're blowouts.

From Evan: it's a huge night of hope for the trans community. The Republicans went all in on anti-trans ads in multiple races and so far there's no sign it got them anything.

Perhaps the page can be turned on blaming us for Harris' loss last year.

Crazy how much some media has normalized the idea that voters are taking a risk if they elect governors/mayors who will defy Trump. That he’ll threaten their funding, etc.

Try to imagine, say. Greg Abbott being asked if he’s worried that Biden will punish Texas over his lawsuits.

it gets tiring to keep explaining what it means to be poor to people.

it is not that poor people don’t know that cooking is cheaper:

cooking costs time. it costs pots and pans. it costs a working stove and your utilities on. it costs you’ve been on your feet all day and your babies are tired.

I've been rewatching old network shows and you know what, i'm gonna say it, i miss 23 ep seasons. I do!! Let me sit with stuff, give me some filler eps, let me have eps that are just there to build character moments, i miss it!!
The Penguin is really good, I’m glad I watched it, but my god am I fucking over the eight episode miniseries format. Leads to writing problems and pacing problems every time.
