Just want to point out as well that SF has quite possibly the best anti-fare dodging ad campaign based on their baseball team’s fiercest rivals being the Dodgers.

it’s really crazy how, in the course of three weeks, we’ve gone from “wow he’s really out there chasing ICE” to it being a point of total consensus among many that I am “working with the feds.” a bizarre demonstration of how social environments Online just microwave people’s brains
"If I keep working with the feds people might get mad that I work with the feds, what can I do!?"
I’m telling you, eventually someone could actually take a shot at me if this “he’s a fed!” lunacy continues. It’s not safe, it’s genuinely scary

Too many people agreeing w me so: My position for years has been that voter ID requirements are fine so long as they're forgiving (oops, I forgot my ID but here is a debt card with my name on it), when they're unforgiving it's because they're being designed to depress low-propensity Dem voters.
You definitely don’t need to show ID before you get on a train.

I’ve actually flown without a license before* and you can fly if you have some other proof that it’s your ticket (like a credit card) and get patted down.
Markwayne Mullin defends "show me your papers": "If you're here legally, there's nothing to hide. Most people already are walking around with a government-issued ID, meaning your Real ID or your driver's license. If you go board a train here, you gotta show your ID."

I didn't think it was a conspiracy. I assumed, like many people, the cop was having a shitty day, and unlike most people he has a job that can make someone else's day worse so he did that.
February 11, 2026 at 2:47 PM
Not gonna reply to every comment but yes; it felt like a scam, I checked the cop's plate (Romulus, MI) while he was running my ID and got his badge number (all real), he refused to just send me a ticket I could pay later, and my mind was focused on not missing my flight.

*cop pulled me over as I was returning a rental car; he claimed I had made an illegal turn around him (I hadn’t seen him). Didn’t have cash to pay fine so he took my license. This was in 2017, I think it’s illegal now

It's genuinely funny how many leftists think that Native Americans are a monolith when it comes to identity or culture
The slur was “American Indian,” and I did not even refer to anyone with the term. They searched my post history and found nine-month old tweets in which I alternated between “Native American” and “Indian” when referring to tribes that had negotiated treaties with the early American republic.

So a Trump attorney that aided his 2020 campaign (and wrote a memo encouraging Pence to skip counting electoral votes) was given an "election integrity" job in the administration, where he made a referral to investigate Fulton County. 1/2

The New York Times interviewed two authors who claim AI is the future of romance novels, who coincidentally also sell courses about how to use AI to write romance novels.

Will’s spot on here, there’s a kind of person online who seeks out the absolute moral high ground, sometimes in an annoying way, sometimes in incredibly bad faith, that just isn’t worth engaging with online. If you want to make a serious accusation as a stranger you need to do it in a serious way.
What you guys need to understand is that if you want me to take your accusations of racism/misogyny/transphobia/etc. seriously, you first need to satisfy the gateway criterion of not acting like malicious freaks who are incredibly thrilled to make those accusations. Then we can talk like adults

“American Indian” is not an offensive term and the weirdos who searched through my tens of thousands of posts to try and find something they could use to label me a racist are not acting in good faith. The game of trying to set up rhetorical tripwires to attack people you hate is incredibly toxic.
When members of a marginalised group tell you to stop using a term to refer to them, it’s not hard to just… be gracious and stop doing it. Which is much easier and makes you look a lot better than doubling down on a racist term and telling the people who find it offensive that they’re wrong.
