i don't really have a place to put all my thoughts about this into longform. i had a newsletter on substack years ago but stopped really publishing even before they became the Nazi Newsletter Company. so maybe i'll just do an annoying thread here?
willingly put myself in a room with a bunch of management consultants talking about AI in media and no one here has ever created anything other than a PowerPoint in their life and i want the earth to open up and swallow this building even if that means my own death

I had a fairly miserable realisation about AI and individual harm which is that for pro-AI people the assumption is that this technology is like the automobile - society will ultimately arrange itself around it, which includes tacitly accepting some level of mass casualties
