i personally cannot afford to pay an artist right now so i do that shit myself with photoshop. it's not nearly as hard as you think and if you don't want to pay adobe there are plenty of similar robust open-source programs

this is not solidarity. if you're a writer who uses this technology even "just for pitches" (and i personally know a few) you are not acting in solidarity

it's been a while but if anyone did want to pay me to write about this in actual blog form, i can do that for you! i used to write for all kinds of places, like NYMag and Vox and shit

i know someone in a similar situation and it's so frustrating, particularly in this job "market"

the work situation has been really rough lately. even cool things like a TV development deal and a produced feature aren't enough to survive on, so i was thinking about nutting up and trying to get a "real" job like that again. how bad could it be? yesterday showed me just how much worse it's gotten

these people want to sublimate every human impulse to capital. there is no place in their world for art for art's sake. hearing them talk about this for two hours was like drinking poison
