The extent to which the American legislature has been completely bypassed in truly doing anything is one of the most important stories.

The American legislature was supposed to be a functional body that did things, and it does nothing. As the American executive does everything.

For decades.

The rules are simple 🌟

You must find a person who has never heard “Dominick the Donkey” and play it for them:

Senator Kelly is correct.

Plus a Public Service Announcement:

KEY section of Department of Defense's Law of War Manual is 18.3.2.1.

The VERY rule on the "requirement" to refuse illegal orders gives as its paradigmatic example of what is "clearly illegal:
"orders to fire upon the shipwrecked."

There are specific reasons Trumpists want war on Venezuela, but there‘s a generic one: they crave power to make war on anyone, any time, for completely fabricated reasons, and then to use the guise of war to increase violence and repression everywhere, including home.

They are lawless bestial scum.

In my opinion, "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" is a better play than "Waiting for Godot," and Stoppard also co-wrote Terry Gilliam's "Brazil," which I rank among the top 5 or so greatest films ever made in the history of cinema.
Tom Stoppard, RIP. This is my favorite of his plays (but I've read or seen just a small fraction of his work, so there's a good chance that there's a better one out there).

Hegseth wasn't chosen as merely a Fox News buffoon who then bumbles his way into war crimes out of machismo incompetence. He was chosen specifically because he is, and has been for a long time, a proud, open, and explicit advocate of war crimes as a good thing we should do.
A chapter in Hegseth’s book is literally titled “More Lethality, Less Lawyers.”

It’s almost as if there were signs!

Every single congressional Democrat needs to be out there, right now, insisting that Pete Hegseth resign right now and announcing that he will be held accountable for committing war crimes.

If you do not demand accountability here and now, they will only become more emboldened.
Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.
Hegseth order on first Caribbean boat strike, officials say: Kill them all
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a verbal order to kill all crew members in the Sept. 2 strike on a suspected drug boat. Navy SEALs fired a second missile.

I'm gonna tell you about a guy named Peter. He called for support often and it wasn't stupid stuff. But it was complex.

He drove a BMW. He was divorced. He was of course a sales person. Probably the most successful sales person in California and maybe the country.

He serviced the government.
You meet the users where they are to stop them doing the stupidest shit imaginable.

You have no idea how much this paid off. The number of infected media players people downloaded in the age before Windows Media Player had more than three codecs is unimaginable

Yeah but that’s just the obvious answer, innit?

Star Wars has always been kinda crappy movies that sketch out an incredibly wondrous and cool setting and ideaspace.

Star Trek has always been a rickety and poorly built bucket into which some incredibly good sci-fi writing has been poured.
