Label meat like tobacco, with photos of factory farm animal torture
I've actually tried to game out how to accomplish vegan political objectives without generating too much backlash; I think one way to do it is to repeal agricultural gag laws and then ride the backlash to impose strong animal welfare laws that have the effect of dramatically increasing meat prices

They looked at what the Supreme Court is doing for Trump and asked why they don’t have that.

I'll go further and say that if you report the "Senate data" provision as being about Jack Smith you are actively lying to your readers. it is a bipartisan pro-corruption law that more or less confers immunity from corruption prosecutions on all 100 senators whether they want it or not.
this is being reported elsewhere as a sop to Republican senators angry about being investigated by Jack Smith but the language is honestly so much worse and so much broader than that.

I'm not sure I'd go so far as to assume the eight Democratic senators were opposed to a provision which apparently makes it functionally illegal to sue or investigate them
Anyway the eight Dem senators were too lazy to do this

read the actual bill text and this is quite literally a provision designed solely to impede civil and criminal investigations into United States Senators and their staff. www.appropriations.senate.gov/imo/media/do...

GOP aping T••••: you don’t need to repeal laws if you fire the people and eliminate the funding
lets assume the deal is as described and the GOP doesn't renege on any of it. that means

we get:
-gov't funded thru 30 jan
-snap thru 30 sep 26
-reverts staffing to 30 sep 25

GOP gets:
-De Facto repeal of Obamacare (the vote on ACA subsidies will fail. there aren't 12 gop to go along with it.)
Tentative Senate deal to end shutdown, multiple sources tell me & @frankthorp.bsky.social:

—CR through Jan 30
—Approps minibus
—Fully funds SNAP
—Reverses Trump’s shutdown RIFs
—Promise of Senate vote on ACA subsidies by Dec second week (details/outcome uncertain)
—Led by King/Shaheen/Hassan

Elmo canceling a blogger’s order
Wow: Per Hamdi's legal team, his only charge was a visa overstay — after Trump revoked his visa.

Despite DHS tweeting that Hamdi supported terrorism, they never charged him with any criminality.

In other words: Trump revoked a journalist's visa, so agents could arrest him for overstaying his visa.
NEW: British journalist Sami Hamdi is being released from US detention.

Trump administration agents detained him two weeks ago at the San Francisco airport — hours after he addressed an event, where he urged US leaders to take an “America First” approach rather than “Israel First.”

Every level of the corrupt prez count is like supervoting shares for colony founders, Zuck-style
you still have the problem that the president is elected by a true majority of electors. a plurality throws the election to the house, where it’s on a state-by-state basis (not individual vote). so you need to amend the constitution in a way that’s not subject to red state fuckery.

My take on SNAP is that Donald Trump is constitutionally ineligible to hold the office of president, and he has turned ICE and Border Patrol into explicitly partisan militias, sent specifically into so-called Democrat cities in order to conduct terror operations
