At my hospital this is predated on the functions of 100s of admin staff being replaced with the NHS app and electronic patient records. The IT department focused exclusively on EPR for 6 months yet when it launched it broke so many things they turned it off and declared a critical incident.

I recognise both cruel optimism & suicide postponement as states that we wrestle with at Not the Void UK. We do discuss what it will mean when/if a member dies, what responsibility to each other but not for each other actually means.

I disagree with this. If universal school based interventions have been found not to help, and to have some negative effects, we should let them die and focus on something else. There are so many research areas that are funding-starved, why flog this dead horse?
We therefore suggest a compromise: if more trials *are* run, they should be optimally designed to test for possible mechanisms and individual differences. We give detail about how to do this
