This is why, when banks like JP Morgan complain that they're being made to hold too much capital in reserve in case of the next financial crisis, you should not take them seriously.

Also a war crime doesn’t have to involve combatants. Killing civilians is a war crime too

It’s both. Morally, it’s just murder, of course. Legally, the issue is that it’s happening outside the US, so I’m not sure that the perpetrators can be charged under state or federal statute. I think UCMJ could be involved, as could international law and tribunals. Hence “war crime.”

one of the problems I have with Democrats (and other critics) labeling these "war crimes" is that it accepts the underlying claim that the people being murdered are enemy combatants. They're not! it's just murder!
Fox News' Joey Jones justifies the US military killing survivors after an initial boat strike: "An enemy combatant does not have to have a gun to be a danger or a threat... if you leave anybody alive, they can signal and let others know what’s happening and they can also retaliate through radio."

Hegseth and MAGA default to presuming everybody else tends to false surrender and perfidy because they are decadent cowards. This is why they do the WARFIGHTER RARRRGGH cosplay.

Their war criminality is not by design or strategy. It is fundamentally who they are, deep down, at their rotten core.

This is not true. Musk is endorsing (again) a version of the white nationalist great replacement theory, as told by Stephen Miller.

It is a conspiracy theory and it was confined to the fringes of the Internet until 10 or so years ago.

If true, Harris would’ve easily won in 2024.

Can't believe there weren't budget lines called "woke nonsense" and "free stuff for scary immigrants" they could cut to fully fund the rest of government.

I'll say it again -- I'm on my firm's AI committee: every canned demo has had brutal, malpractice-level errors, and every live trial has required more time and care to vet the output than to just do it, like working with an unteachably incompetent associate you'd need to sit down for a Hard Talk.
