Inevitable to see that TERFs/Gender Critical ideologues [transphobes] have dropped their pretence & are now openly joining in with their fellow far right extremists.
Allow me, on behalf of the LGBTQ community, to say ‘we told you so’.

Last night I was covering a violent bunch of racists who call themselves UKIP.
Among them were people waving "Adult Human Female" flags.
Below are people promoting the same "Adult Human Female" bullshit on Beeston High Road.
Treat these transphobes as the far-right hate group they really are.

I don't know if it's because I have fallen for the fallacious reasoning that "if it exists it isn't really AI", or if it's because I've spent time thinking about what LLMs are and have a better understanding, but I am confident that LLMs aren't any form of intelligence but they fake it very well.
Really important point that people need to grasp: it's not that "AI doesn't work right now" or "I don't want AI to work because I'm a vicious hater". Both those are true but they stem from the more salient reality: "AI" cannot work.

So, there's this guy who is really really good at public relations, but recently he made a bit of an unforced error (and, also, didn't jump on a chance, later, to make a really good point on an unrelated topic) and I don't know whether I should say anything or if doing so will make his fans hate me.

It's kind of wild how almost all politics in the UK is a demand for perfect systems that work 100% of the time and angry denunciations of systems that have redundancy or error checking as wasteful bureaucracy.

I am once again saying that we saw what wall to wall, panic coverage of a crisis looked like after the Biden debate and there’s no reason Trump isn’t getting that kind of coverage except for class solidarity.
So the oldest person ever to become president keeps falling asleep in his office during public events and there’s no big public discussion on how this is a coverup or how republicans are lying to us about how this government is running?

it’s almost impressive how they’ve not just gutted the equality act, but actively perverted it so it does the opposite of what parliament intended
This is how transphobia's right wing fuckery blew open basic respect in the UK, there is absolutely no reason to expect now that being "women critical" is not also a protected belief, if you truly do not believe that women should just be reproductive slaves for cis men.
This will be used to abuse.

Ian Rennie is, in fact, not just correct in this thread but, also, the world's first quadrillionaire!
I have promised to pay Ian 1 quadrillion USD.
Obviously that sort of money requires a return and it's simple, all that's necessary is the creation of a few machines:

He doesn't have one trillion dollars. He's not going to have one trillion dollars. The company promising to give him one trillion dollars isn't worth one trillion dollars. It's not going to be worth one trillion dollars.

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.
Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."
Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

So churches aren't taxed because of a specific interpretation of the First Amendment of the US Constitution, i.e. that it would count as "prohibiting the free exercise thereof [religion]", but this administration telling people they're not allowed to pray is, apparently, just fine.
UPDATE: Reached out to the Rev. Hannah Kardon, a United Methodist minister who was there that day and has been active in religious demonstrations at Broadview.
“They are making it clear that they are scared of prayer … it speaks the truth that what they are doing in that building is evil.”

Sandwich verdict wasn’t jury nullification. It was failure to prove the required “reasonable fear of physical injury” in a case where the agent was wearing A BULLETPROOF VEST. The only crime was the waste of resources on this case. My thoughts in @MSNBCDaily.

Opinion | The sandwich thrower was wrong. But Jeanine Pirro was, too.
To establish a forcible assault, jurors were required to find that Dunn caused “reasonable apprehension of immediate bodily harm.” That allegation was laughable.

Echoes of Jonathan Greenblatt sneeringly dismissing Mamdani visiting synagogues because, Greenblatt said, those synagogues are "anti-Zionist."
The implications being 1) only pro-Israel Jews are real Jews, and 2) pro-Israel people have the authority to decide which Jews count and which Jews don't.

This is fairly infuriating. Indiana U abruptly got rid of the Jewish director of the Jewish studies program, replacing him with a non-Jewish scholar, Günther Jikeli. Jikeli then defunded a Jewish graduate student who has been critical of Israel.

In Indiana, a vaunted Jewish studies program is upended by red-state politics over Israel and speech - Jewish Telegraphic Agency
A leadership shakeup, a defunded graduate student and political pressure from above have turned a storied program into a flashpoint for Trump-era campus politics.

I used to get annoyed, upset even, when people told me things I already knew or said, but I started trying to remember that either people don't know that I know a thing, or didn't hear/understand what I said, and that they're just trying to be helpful.
