I give people a lot of grace to refer to me as "Ms. Richner" in cold emails. My pronouns are out there, but I know "Mx." rubs people the wrong way and is not super well known by cis people.

With that being said..."Mrs." is a wild one to default to and takes me by surprise every time I see it.

I don’t mean to sound extreme, but I don’t think we should have torture camps for people with criminal records either.

This was entirely about purging a trans instructor from the school and they succeeded. It was aided by a lot of dumb liberals taking it at face value arguing the minutia of grading rubrics while ignoring the obvious bad faith efforts behind this.

I saw Avatar on Sunday and can report the same experience in NYC. There was more interest in the Timothee Chalamet table tennis movie trailer.
I gotta confirm everyone else’s reports and say that I was in a sold out theater full of people of all ages, from young kids to 20 year olds to senior citizens, and the “Steve Rogers will return in Avengers Doomsday” trailer was met with complete silence and an overwhelming aura of disinterest

I can say a lot of negative things about the new Avatar movie (bad pacing, terrible acting, mediocre and stilted writing, etc), but what I really can't get over is how frustratingly terrible the movie treats its women characters

Also there are 11 more days to submit your queer speculative stories already published in 2025!

The editors love reading far and wide, so please especially consider submitting work from journals and anthologies they might not be aware of.

This course "does not teach AI writing or content replacement"--except the first session listed does teach how to use a "custom gpt" to create "optimized copy" from book files.

I'm sorry, but I can't help but be uncomfortable with this.
AI isn’t coming to publishing—it’s already here. PW’s new AI for Publishing Bootcamp gives teams the tools and workflows to keep up.

First session is Feb 11. Early Bird pricing is now open.
