I'll go further and say that if you report the "Senate data" provision as being about Jack Smith you are actively lying to your readers. it is a bipartisan pro-corruption law that more or less confers immunity from corruption prosecutions on all 100 senators whether they want it or not.
this is being reported elsewhere as a sop to Republican senators angry about being investigated by Jack Smith but the language is honestly so much worse and so much broader than that.

She's not doing interviews because she's currently trying to stay upright after about a pint of Black Label.
Gillibrand says she is not doing interviews when I asked if she had spoken with Zohran Mamdani since his victory.

the vigil was pretty affecting. it was great to see all the support from a pretty white rural community, for them to hear the story a daughter told of her green-card holding mother being brutalized, knelt on, and interrogated while the DHS guys tried to make them admit her REAL ID was fake
I'm going to a vigil tonight that will almost certainly be under DHS surveillance to show solidarity with families whose loved ones were kidnapped in broad daylight what the fuck is Sheldon Whitehouse doing to face these 'dangers' of which he speaks, huh?

this shit is so enraging. don't fucking condescend to me, Sheldon, I know what you all did.
Many feel betrayal and frustration, and the feelings are hot right now.

I get it. I have my own feelings.

it's not polite to say but we'd literally be better off as a country on net if every Democratic senator from a blue state dropped dead tomorrow and was replaced by some B-tier state politician appointed for their friendliness with the governor.

If Trump openly supports it you can also forget the "the House won't vote for it anyway!" theory - Johnson and the House will pass whatever they're told to
If you need confirmation Senate Democrats are fucking this whole thing up here you go. Excellent way to destroy the enthusiasm with huge Dem wins throughout the country up and down the ballot that were not even one week ago.

I feel like we're in a weird world where the average Dem partisan, engaged voter is better informed than most of their representatives
seems to me that those democrats inclined not to fight perceive themselves as living through a somewhat ordinary cycle of presidential overreach and backlash and not something much more significant and dangerous

Primary them all!
🚨 Tim Kaine is saying the quiet part out loud - underscoring why anyone shouldn't be satisfied with any of the "no" statements or posts from Dem Senators.

If Dem Senators are truly disgusted with this save they should be calling on #SurrenderSchumer to step aside as the Leader immediately.

The quintessential example of the pro-Israel motte and bailey in action: it's not apartheid because the occupied West Bank is not a part of Israel, but everything in the occupied West Bank is a domestic issue for Israelis and the US has no business dictating to the Israelis on this.
