Ireland’s revised policy on urban speed limits stops short of introducing a national default 30 km/h limit, a measure already adopted in Spain and Wales and planned in Greece.

Designers of protected cycle routes need to take cargo bicycles into account, researchers say
Users of cargo bicycles -- which are seen as having a high potential for replacing car trips -- can be "effectively excluded from protected cycle networks that are designed without consideration for atypical cycles", researchers have said. The researchers also made recommendations to promote e-cargo bike use and to develop parking solutions that keep the bicycles secure. The findings by researchers at Trinity College Dublin, Dublin City University, and the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) were based on face-to-face and Zoom interviews with 23 cargo bike users across Ireland, as well as an online survey with 203 responses from cargo bike owners on the island of Ireland.
