Always find it fascinating how some people can look perplexed when they see you on the bike heading to the shops, or the schoolrun, or the local GAA club. Like, “Ah, there’s yer man, on the bike”.

Like it’s an alien concept to them. It’s just not done. Not a mode of transport. Only for kids etc.

New map work! Greenways of Ireland. Something I've been wanting to do for a long time. Surprising just how many there are, and even more in planning #GreenwaysIreland #ActiveTravel #Cycling

Lack of speed-limit data from Dublin City Council is hampering a “lifesaving” technology in cars. The council is now over 18 months late in meeting a legal deadline to publish a digital map of speed limits on city streets.

Wow - Is that over 3 million HGV movements for MetroLink alone!?

The risks for us Dubs on bikes is huge here.

We really need to make sure they’re done by direct-vision cab vehicles.
Dublin is facing a decade of disruption from the construction of big – and long-awaited – transport projects. Work on two bus corridors – Liffey Valley to the city centre, and Ballymun and Finglas to the city centre – is due to kick off this year. And that’s just the start.

@dublincycling.bsky.social hi, a colleague of mine found two bikes in a ditch, a cargo bike and a mountain bike. Have any of your members reported bikes stolen? She's called the guards about them, but they weren't the most helpful

This is a shocking blow to Ireland’s climate ambitions.
Weeks of severe storms and catastrophic flooding across the country — all made worse and more frequent by climate change.

Our politicians’ response?
Our Minister for Climate Action’s response?!

More emissions.

What a wildly stupid idea.

Mandatory helmets and high viz is a proven remedy to reduce the number of people cycling. It effectively kills off things like Dublin Bikes.

That's why no other EU country does anything like this. Pure madness.

Beg buttons relegate pedestrians to second-class citizens, forcing them to apply just to cross the road safely.

It’s time to get rid of them and prioritise people, not cars.

Users of the Interim Ranelagh active travel route are being asked to provide their feedback to Dublin City Council's Active Travel Office. The scheme, which is focused on Ranelagh Village, mainly included plastic bollards protecting the existing cycle lanes and the removal. The now-protected cycle lanes are used by schoolchildren and commuters, but, as reported by this website last year…

Yesterday, we were at the Mansion House visiting Lord Mayor Ray McAdam to give him a very special bike.

It’s the 1,000th bike rebuilt by the awesome crew of The Bike Hub UpCyclers programme.

TBH volunteer Gary officially presented the bike.
