That’s quite an own goal by Transport Minister Darragh O’Brien delaying the Finglas Luas by two years, and stalling on DART+ South West till 2030, on World Sustainable Transport Day, no less. Who needs Judicial Reviews when Fianna Fáil’s running the show?

Ah here.

Active Travel getting €360m every year while road spend goes up from €1,600m to €2,700m.

We've seen time and again how building active travel infrastructure increases modal shift, boosting health, reducing congestion and saving money.

Serious leadership would have understood that.

Minister Canny’s U-turn on safer urban speeds risks lives and life-changing injuries. It cannot be let stand.

We were proud to visit the Dáil today at the invitation of Ciaran Ahern TD
to send the Minister our simple message: No delays. No excuses. Implement the law now.

Ciaran Ferrie's piece in @irishexaminer.bsky.social nails the Govts capitulation on the Speed Limit Review. Identifying the urban roads that should be 50km (arterial) and 30km (everywhere else) is a relatively simple technical exercise with a small bit of guidance. Absolute cowardice.

Wider C2CC, anyone…?
The Embankment cycleway (CS3) in London was purposefully built to be wider than was usual in order to future proof it.

Some said it would hardly be used.

Now there’s a decent case for widening it further.

Induced demand is real.
