First holiday season without drinking, with the news cycle today may just celebrate with a drink.

Fond memories of that pre-match chat when my eldest earnestly reasoned with me that if I'd never had kids to be bringing to sport all the time that I'd have more time for cycle campaigning.

According to Google's SynthID detector, it was created using Google AI.

Amen.

I was a hockey parent so I did LOL at this...

I'll leave this one to the experts but based on what I was hearing on NPR this morning it sounded as though Trump, Hegseth, Rubio, et al went into this with a surprisingly poor understanding of the factions in Venezuela and that seems entirely plausible to me.

My least favorite moment as a parent was hearing my middle school son telling me about how he got into a yelling match with a parent about giving space for bikes in a heavy traffic as school was letting out.

He had said "hey, don't get so close so fast" and the parent wasn't having it.
Kids who got new bikes for Christmas, "super excited" to walk them around the city that's too dangerous to ride in.

Everything Went Black is a compilation album by American hardcore punk band Black Flag, released in January 1982

Due to a legal dispute with the MCA, no band name was listed in the initial publication, only those of the band members

This is such an important point. You shouldn’t have to be a confident cyclist to be a confident cyclist, if that makes sense. Cycling will only be safe when the little old granny with a basket on the front, the drunk guy post-pub, or schoolchildren, can all cycle with no effort or worries.

The former site of the Old Eastern Ave bridge over the Lower Don.

It was disconnected from the road network in the early 60s & and sat idle for clsoe to 65 years before being torn down in 2024.

A true pontist gem, lost.
