I might regret crossing streams (and I might end up deleting this), but if you're curious about how the professional writing stuff is going, I have separate accounts.
I know it's asking a lot, but a positive action readers can take is to interact with our stuff. Any of it. Right now (at this point in my career), it feels like single writers are called to be full media companies, and it's not our natural lane

I'm a one-on-one type. Daily life involves caretaking.
not sure how to square ‘no one person can be reasonably expected to pay for every media subscription’ with ‘sorely underpaid writers need to make a living’ but my inclination is not to locate that problem with any of the broke ass people on either end of the complaint

This is how I looked trying to do a pull up in middle school, when I was still growing into my body and my nervous system was working on catching up.
December 9, 2025 at 3:15 AM
I think a compilation of all these sweaty half pull-ups needs to be used as a campaign ad that never stops playing on local TV stations.
Yes the HHS Secretary just attempted and failed to do one complete pull up while rocking an untucked shirt and pit stains on TV, totally normal behavior for the HHS Secretary

When left to their own devices, they build religious practices around it...
Some days, AI feels like a penis.

1) Tech bros are proud of theirs.

2) It's been shoved everywhere.

3) No one demands it.

4) Completely useless for most.

Back in my day, we'd call this a head canon, and you'd write a fan fiction about it
How about you just watch the tv show like a normal person?

Gov. @gavinnewsom says he disagrees with Mayor @zohrankmamdani about the need for a wealth tax on billionaires, which he is “adamantly against” - says Dems are a “big tent party” with both views.

Yeah, alright I guess LOL

These bots are out of hand. But when I see that kind of follower/following ratio, I generally write them off.

100%. As a disabled person (who ironically just spoke on this on Tumblr), I want a world where I have the freedom to determine my own accommodations and take them. If you free up the space, I can get what I need.

Making me petition for sth we can all be doing (or I can min. do myself) is a cruelty
When someone asks for accommodation it's because they want to do their best, to show up as best they can - for themselves, for you, for others, and for the situation.
This is great. I think the whole idea of accommodation should rightly be an invitation to reject an ableist, eugenicist approach to the world and instead ask "What if we want to give *everyone* the chance to do their best?"

I’ve sometimes fallen into the trap of thinking that complementing a creative person for their work is less sophisticated or desired than discussion or debate about it but very often the best thing you can say to them is hell yeah and that doesn’t make you dumb it just makes you nice

Once again, outsourcing critical public infrastructure to Silicon Valley dorks was maybe not the smartest move in hindsight.
Make Uber aware and if they don’t do anything, add them to the boycott list
ICE is using Uber stickers in order to disguise themselves and kidnap people. Spread this for awareness!

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

Counterpoint to the OP (that Chuck's graciously responding to) but authors don't owe you a look at our financials. That's a weird thing to need from us.
my income is only books and another similar art in a different field, but definitely no day job, so this does not apply to me, but i think my trot is to acknowledge that this is very very rare and that while talent and persistence matter the most important factor of me being here is luck
I know we know this, but authors need to get better at talking about how they actually make their money. Stop pretending it's from the books.

If you've got 5k followers and you're following 5k accounts, *AND* you reply guy me, I assume you're a bot.

I apologize if that's not the case, but it just seems like a pattern, and honestly, how in the world is your feed even usable, if you're a real human?

(Also contrarian shit is annoying)
"The party of pedophiles wants to institute genital checks" seems like low-hanging fruit, but the problem is that Democrats see a power vacuum in the fracturing Rs and would rather position themselves as the moderate solution for the people supposedly fleeing the party.
I think Democrats should double down on trans rights now. It's obvious that most voters don't care about it so you might as well stick with your principles and goad Republicans into focusing on it at the expense of everything else so they're the ones who look like freaks.

Just so it's clear. It's not allowing AI because it's trying to create a clean dataset for training AI. It's not because any of the involved parties actually care about human created art.

Demons can lie to you. You have to rebuke them categorically, rather than fold when they say the right words.
Vine is being rebooted under the name diVine, with funding from Twitter’s former CEO Jack Dorsey.

The app plans to feature more than 10,000 previously archived Vines and does not allow AI-generated content.
