Surviving fascism depends on effective resistance. But can civilians defeat fascists armed with anything from drones to nukes? The answer is yes. This growing collection of threads explains what you can do, based on a decade of research. If you doubt that all this is necessary read the thread below:
🧵A thread to help Americans understand what they are up against. I'm an American citizen who grew up in GA as a person with dark skin, and who has lived in Europe for some time. Anglo-Saxon white supremacy and European-style fascism share a common history. But I have also observed key differences:
The Anglo-Saxon white supremacy Americans are familiar with has merged with Continental-European fascism. This takes any traditional American resistance strategies out of the picture. Passive damage mitigation, protests, political organizing, hoping to just ride it out, will not work. 1/

This article uses a whole lot of words and says nothing imo.

How? He fit right in. He went to the nazi bar and found his people.

I still can't believe that people get paid good money to write trash like this.

Jason Lee Van Dyke like other white power activists when confronted with why their ideas are bullshit and factually wrong never respond with substance. Instead, they rehash old baseless attack lines and flail around in the corner like the rats they are.

You can't separate this from the Atlantic article claiming their are too many students with disabilities. It's a moral panic meant to push out young people with disabilities from access to resources and to reify ableist bigotry. It's exactly what they did to trans people.

The fascists are counting on you finding erotica and porn too distasteful to support. Because they always start here. And even if they ended here, sexuality and erotism are integral components of queer expression. You can't support queer creators without supporting 'nsfw' content.

It's officially #SpotifyWrapped season, so we're flipping the script by unwrapping Spotify. Tell them to drop ICE ads now!

Since Spotify won’t protect immigrant communities, we’re using their own celebration to hold them accountable. Cancel your subscription to get them to pull the plug on ICE

I started following Evan and Assigned Media back on the old site and I would highly recommend to any cis, straight person who is seeking to improve themselves. Easy to understand, written for eveyone, and dedicated to the Truth. Trans rights now and forever
We know everyone is asking for your money this month, but here's a twist: We're NOT asking you to donate in December, we're asking you to spread the word.

Help the trans people and allies who don't know Assigned Media's reputation for excellence and originality in trans news find us!

You really have to ask why more legacy media didn't cover this.

The framing is a clear a home run: "One of the country's most conservative states funded a review of evidence for trans youth healthcare, and you'll never believe what they found."
An inependent review of medical evidence on trans youth healthcare found substantial evidence of benefit, and no evidence of harm.

This was one of our top stories this year. Legacy news, who extensively covered a review finding the opposite, ignored this.

Plentiful Data, No Regret: What the Utah Review on Youth Trans Care Found — Assigned
A 1,000-page report by the College of Pharmacy at the University of Utah, which found care safe and effective, stands out from others: It’s both independent and an actual review of the evidence.

Trans women protesting outside Scottish Parliament this May.
I love it when trans women protest topless. If they're arrested, the state must admit they're women. If they aren't, it shows the glaring contradictions of labeling trans women as legally male. It helps their cause either way.

The goal is to humiliate trans people and make our lives unlivable. It's a terror campaign. In the ideal world of these far-right activists, people would be scared to hire a trans person for a job, for instance, for fear of something like this happening.

Calling the creature in question the leader of some faction of fascists rather than "President" would be a first small step toward changing the part where nothing happens. Avoiding any kind of legitimizing language, for that matter. People need to hear that the fascists' legitimacy is up for debate.
I think it is insanely bad for the world that the President posts this onto his personal social media website and nothing happens .normanrockwellstandingman.jpg

A "labor historian" who doesn't know the labor movement has never been a monolith? That even traditional mainstream unions have always had the whole spectrum of labor activists, from orthodox Marxists to anarchists and libertarian socialists?
“Historian.” If the “historian” had done *any* research, he would know that anarchists were an integral & key part of the ecosystem of the anti-globalization movement, in Seattle & beyond. This is an embarassing thing to post.
This Day in Labor History: November 30, 1999. The WTO protests begin in Seattle. Carefully constructed coalitions between labor, environmentalists, and other activists were blown up by anarchists who hijacked the protests for their own purposes, leading to a violent response from the Seattle cops!!!

Don't worry, the fascists are returning the favor. By putting them on that website, they're making liberals want to watch/read these right-wing propaganda mills. Because why not? The trick always works. Big tent and stuff, remember?
The White House’s new anti-media website includes denunciations of:

-ABC, which bribed the president
-CBS, which bribed the president and moved away from fact-based journalism trying to appeal to him and his fans
-WaPo, which spiked a Harris endorsement and tilts coverage in Trump’s favor

Fools.

Those who stood up to ICE in New York today are heroes. Who knows how many people's lives they protected.

As in Chicago, NYPD took the side of the federal mercenaries, brutalizing all who confronted them.

If you oppose ICE, the police are your adversary, as well.
