🧵A thread to help Americans understand what they are up against. I'm an American citizen who grew up in GA as a person with dark skin, and who has lived in Europe for some time. Anglo-Saxon white supremacy and European-style fascism share a common history. But I have also observed key differences:
The Anglo-Saxon white supremacy Americans are familiar with has merged with Continental-European fascism. This takes any traditional American resistance strategies out of the picture. Passive damage mitigation, protests, political organizing, hoping to just ride it out, will not work. 1/
Surviving fascism depends on effective resistance. But can civilians defeat fascists armed with anything from drones to nukes? The answer is yes. You can't separate this from the Atlantic article claiming their are too many students with disabilities. It's a moral panic meant to push out young people with disabilities from access to resources and to reify ableist bigotry. It's exactly what they did to trans people.

A "labor historian" who doesn't know the labor movement has never been a monolith? That even traditional mainstream unions have always had the whole spectrum of labor activists, from orthodox Marxists to anarchists and libertarian socialists?
“Historian.” If the “historian” had done *any* research, he would know that anarchists were an integral & key part of the ecosystem of the anti-globalization movement, in Seattle & beyond. This is an embarassing thing to post.
