Frank Oz came to Calarts and performed Grover. He did not hide his mouth movements at all. Grover was completely believable. I will never forget that.
What's so amazing about Jim Henson as a puppeteer is that he could literally be explaining that Kermit is made out of felt and ping pong balls and yet Kermit still feels alive the whole time he's doing it

My coworkers are making such awesome stuff. I love how everyone’s personality and nuanced taste / skills comes out in their scenes. It’s very inspiring. No one’s work is like the other, and that’s great. Just another reminder that AI literally could not do any of this. The human mind. So wonderful.

Guys. This is important. Critical thinking and creativity is important.
The kids actually made animals that don't exist. The AI just put a bunch of stuff that already exists together into a polished slop blender. You can't get a better illustration of why AI can't create anything new while human creativity is bottomless.

Just a little rogue thought.. some companies paid 10 million $ just for the slot to make play their ad, not counting the cost of celebrities or making the ad.
Some entire seasons of tv or movies cost much less than this. That’s a lot of jobs. I think.. that is broken. 🤷♀️

I do not have the battery to do hourly comics. Any time I’m not working or commuting, I’m resting or spending time with my kids. That’s just how it is right now. I got a deep tissue massage to counteract my work pain and took a small hike to reset my head.

Animation and comics friends, I’d love to see pretty examples of limited color! all my skill points are in storyboard. my color points are very low. I’m trying to think of ways to do limited mostly flat color bgs in a way that would be fast and accessible to me. Open to suggestions!
