NEW: Dems easily flipped the sheriff's office in Pennsylvania's Bucks County, a big swing county in the Philly suburbs.
So? The incumbent GOP sheriff had contracted with ICE. His Dem challenger promised to end the contract.
Now he wants other swing-state Dems to look at his victory as a lesson:

they were called "MMOs" once and you found success through lots of single-player content, deep systems appealing to both singletons and groups, support for guild drama, and customer service that wasn't akin to getting a root canal, none of which seems to have made the transition to "live service"
How on earth do you find lasting, meaningful success with a live-service game? Developers answer the "billion dollar question". https://bit.ly/47xnpSv

We’ve now taken the lead by 91 votes! 🤯 This thing is certainly not over! Over 1,000 ballots have been challenged, so if you haven’t tracked your ballot yet get on it! Our trusty volunteers have been working hard to "cure" ballots so they count! We're so close!

A few thoughts
1: basically every democrat outside the senate opposed this
2: it seems like most dems *in* the senate opposed it too (jury's out on who exactly)
3: this was the first vote, not the last
4: the house will have to come into session to pass this and that'll probably be a shitshow

Getting a lot of folks in my mentions basically asserting the realpolitik, gritty legislative realities, etc. As I've mentioned, I'm sympathetic to your position, I even understand it and would normally lean towards it.
I think it's just wrong right now, and you can't convince me otherwise. vOv

there was a screenshot that i'm trying to find from today that essentially had Senate Democrats going "yeah we won the election so we waited a couple of days to concede"
Senate Democrats think this is the appropriate response because they begin every conflict with the assumption they will lose, and then ask “How can we end this as quickly as possible while creating the appearance of having tried to win so the base isn’t mad?”
I truly don’t know how you look at the past week and THEN decide THIS is an appropriate — let alone the right — response.

Basically: I think the political point scoring arguments right now are missing the point pretty seriously. We absolutely have to assert the constitutional order, and you cannot open the government if the other party refuses.

I don't know if this is what's actually in the deal. But if that's what's in the deal, every Democrat who votes for it should lose their jobs, on principle. Even if the entire situation is a win for Democrats politically, we ought to find other Democrats to enjoy that victory
"A development that appeared to break the logjam: Republicans proposed that healthcare funding be provided directly to households rather than used to pay for a 1-year extension of ACA subsidies. That involves sending federal money into FSAs instead of insurance companies" www.wsj.com/politics/pol...
Republicans Pitch Alternative to ACA Extension to End Government Shutdown
A proposal by GOP senators to send money directly to consumers’ health accounts rather than to insurance companies showed signs of breaking a stalemate on negotiations.
