Today is the day that I find out that they blew up Bond properly in the last one. I thought he was living on an island for some reason, but I'm fine with this.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

It's kind of wild to see ostensibly respectable biographer on Bluesky imply without irony that the real ~tragedy~ of the virulent racism of their subject is how it stained that person's reputation... even when it never caused them any real inconveniences in life and they never repented.

Bond is, in fact, the sovereignty goddess of Britain, existing simultaneously as youthful and crone, wooed by successive unsuitable temporary partners until the true sovereign (Judy Dench) reveals herself
“It’s impossible to reboot Bond” says production team who decided Bond first got his licence to kill in the 21st Century, as Daniel Craig, then got incredibly old within two films and was being put out to pasture, but also had Sean Connery’s 1960s car.

It’s too easy – and too wrong – to dismiss the atrocity-ridden crisis in #Sudan by saying "no one cares".
I can assure you, lots of people care.

It’s difficult to underestimate the extra burden that this is placing on our public libraries. For example, on a daily basis library workers are now filling the in-person/human service gap that billion euro banking institutions have abdicated from to maximise their profit margins.
"Essential services are now digital by default, leaving many older people feeling locked out of their own lives."
As more of our lives move online by default, digital ageism has quietly become one of the last unchallenged prejudices, writes Fiona Daly.

A tragedy of Shakespearean proportions suggests untimely deaths, madness, suffering, maybe some witches. This fella seems to have been happy and fulfilled taking up racism and public bigotry as an extra occupation. And fairly well compensated, too.
Okay, here are some first reflections on Watson.
Watson's life is a tragedy, really of Shakespearean proportions. He did not, as most bios will tell you, do one great thing when he was young and then collect laurels for it for the next 60 years. His career arc was unlike any in science.

In 1994, Matt Ridley introduced him to The Bell Curve. It married genetic determinism about IQ, which Watson believed 100%, with racism, which he didn't interrogate. Had he read the papers cited in TBC, he would have seen that it was pseudoscience. This he did not do.
