Being able to approvingly quote Oswald Mosley's most unhinged speeches by rote is a totally normal qualification for a CEO to have, right?

What is the actual plan for this? AI magically starts producing new industries that don’t exist in the next three months? The unemployed who have never done construction work start doing construction work? Nothing is pointing in this direction, except for elite spending on tennis seats and gambling.

This. Right here. Best advice I've got for quitting anything is to find something you want worse that you absolutely will not be able to unless you let go of the thing.
Something that we want that smoking gets in the way of works better than anything (imo) for making the choice.

Hard, hard choice.

I quit smoking when I started training BJJ because I knew my cardio was going to continue to suck until I did and all of a sudden I needed every bit of cardio I could get. And every little bit you do adds up.
I quit smoking by running a half marathon about a decade ago. Ignore fitness influencers — cardio is more accessible than weight lifting. It can be as easy as taking a brisk walk.
not gonna evangelize about it but tbh coming to understand the value of cardio is one of the biggest positive changes I've made of any kind to my adult life, for whatever that's worth

Fitness gurus are always knocking cardio. Well, the elliptical is super effectively for weight loss. It’s low impact so you can do it for long time periods, every day. I can burn 800-1000 calories in an hour. I can do it daily. I lost 100 lbs once doing nothing but that damned boring elliptical.

Calling out a fascist for taking a hypocritical position is easy. It's also a complete waste of time. Fascist rhetoric is aesthetics— pathos, never logos.

You'll never get anywhere pointing out a fascist's hypocrisy. Fascism is not to be debated, it's to be smashed. Get comfortable using power.

For my last post of 2025, here's a look at a network of websites and social media accounts hawking #resistance- themed garments, frequently with slogans regarding U.S. National Parks.

As it turns out, the websites in question are likely operated from China.

And that $20 probably amounts to at least as much profit as the company makes on the ride...

So, you can do mutual aid while getting free rides and helping drive(heh heh heh) an awful anti-human corporation out of business, simply by using waymo and not closing the door when you leave!

Learning now that by opening a Waymo’s door as you walk past it you can take it out commission AND create $20 of profit for a gig worker. Sounds like a win-win
“Because riders and passersby can be unreliable, Waymo pays workers in Los Angeles $20 or more for rescuing a robotaxi by closing a door, summoning help through an app called Honk that is like an Uber for towing companies.”
When robot taxis get stuck, a secret army of humans comes to the rescue
Waymo robotaxis get stranded when a passenger leaves the door open. Tow truck operators can get paid $22 to close a door and set them free again.

something i learned when a fact checker hired by @swordsjew.bsky.social called me is that books only have fact checkers if the author insists on it or even hires one themselves. you can put anything in a book. that was the only fact checker i’ve ever talked to but i’ve been quoted in other books
A small (personal) example of this book’s intellectual dishonesty:

My father-in-law is reading In Covid’s Wake, and excitedly told me he found a passage where I’m quoted. The quote in question is me saying the FBI worked to censor speech on social media.

Huh? When did I say that?!
