This is why I'm generally unimpressed by people describing how they use LLMs in academic work. Writing can sometimes be time consuming/painful because *you don't really know what you're trying to say*. The labor of thinking stuff through is part of the science and shouldn't be outsourced.
i strongly, strongly believe that good writing is downstream of clear thinking and a strong understanding of the subject matter at hand. without fail, tortured writing comes from writers who don’t know and can’t think clearly about anything.
Oh man! This paragraph is brutal. The best thing about this review is it's not trying to be mean. It's just listing how bad the writing is.

it would be nicer if we all lived in a world of debate club where everyone was free to express their opinions and never lied about their intentions or behaved in bad faith but that's not the world we live in and it is important to deal with reality as it is, not as we want it to be

People catastrophizing about a precedent where no one can mark anything down anymore for being wrong when the real precedent is trans people not being able to do literally any job without an army of bigots launching a harassment campaign against their employer.

they don't know what to do because they think winning elections is their job. if they had substantive ideals that they fought for, and winning elections was merely an instrument for achieving those ends, they'd know exactly what to do. they don't even realize this is a problem.

I wanted to get a video of this ghost crab but every time I got close to their hole they scuttled back in, so I tried getting clever with it. I made a little sandcastle and shoved my phone into it, hit record, and walked away. Crab was VERY suspicious of this addition to their environment.
