I have a food pantry in my front yard. It is used heavily. We can't keep it full & could use some help covering the cost of shelf-stable supplies. No one is using this pantry unless they need the help. We supply beans, oatmeal, onions, etc. It's not gourmet food.

Wow!!
We finally bought 404media.com. We couldn't afford this when we launched a couple of years ago, but it recently became available. You can read the transcript of some of the group call here: “This is so fucking stressful.” Only possible thanks to our subscribers.

Don’t worry, we’re not changing our website. But we’re finally the owners of the real deal: a .com domain.

A lot of people are mad at Schumer for saying this. But he's right. Democrats don't control a single branch of government and they can't pass anything. Only Republicans can rein in Trump because they control both chambers of Congress. Democrats have no cards to play here.
Schumer: "Republicans must -- if there was ever a time, they must step up to the plate. This is the time. And if they don't, they're gonna feel the heat from their constituents."

Loving how the Supreme Court has created a President who feels emboldened to act with total immunity such that he just goes into other countries and arrests THEIR Presidents for doing crimes while in office.

"Supreme Court Republicans ruled that we have a right to own a gun. Before a state or local government can take away your gun, they must first go before a judge to prove the necessity of doing so. But Republican secretaries of state can eliminate your right to vote without even telling you."

The Court’s rulings have exhibited repeated and sustained disrespect for both lower courts & Congress. The justices have enabled the exec branch to act in defiance of countless statutory restrictions and what were thought to be settled constitutional understandings

“If a woman dares to show herself in public in any way, then she can and will be sexually harassed with the aid of genAI-driven tools that can easily turn her face into highly realistic pornography” is an absolute red-alarm human rights disaster
The end goal of Grok sexual harassment is to make women afraid to be visible. It’s a punishment for daring to exist in a way the perpetrators can’t control. There’s no one solution to this, because the problem isn’t just technological. It’s cultural. It’s misogyny. This is just one expression of it.

"Look, the president was absolutely going to ask but then he thought, What if they say no? He thought, There are 435 people in Congress and that seems like a lot of people to have to get permission from before doing things."
The Constitution does say that war powers belong to Congress. But there are important exceptions, like if the president really, really wants to go to war. Or it’s the weekend. Or it’s January. Or he thought he saw a spider. www.theatlantic.com/newsletters/...
