Mostly music, but also sports. Also a decent bit of book talk, outdoorsy stuff, etc. Not FJM.

My teams: Falcons, Hawks, Blue Jays, Atlanta United, PAOK, Alabama, UAB
Some of y’all haven’t let REM into your heart and it shows.

okay if you could magically become the greatest figure skater in the world for a day and deliver one banger performance that would live on forever, and if you could truly let your freak flag fly to choose ANY music you wanted, what are you skating to

I might do “Black Jack Davy” by Steeleye Span

Still loving these rotating screensavers. Booked that isolated cabin during the pandemic in 2020. Was a shit time in general, but it was a magical 10 days in the remote mountains of North Carolina.

Every time I see Daikaiju I think of the time they played my friend’s wedding reception. Easily the most fun/wild wedding I’ve ever been to 😂

I also think about the time they played Egan’s after the Alabama/Penn State game and all the Pennsylvania normies visiting T-Town were freaked the fuck out.

You should be listening to King Buffalo if you aren’t already. 02.13.26 from Birmingham.

I'm glad I never got suckered into NFTs and invested in unopened packs of tv show trading cards instead.

Truly among the greatest celebrity photos ever taken.
Miles Davis meeting Kenny G is one of my fave photos ever. His look is priceless.

This article is bananas. A $500,000 tax hike in ONE YEAR. Like most people of taste, there isn't much on Lower Broadway that appeals to me, but there are some and ACME was always a good place to pop into before going to a show at Ascend or The Ryman.

Something about this artwork makes me think they've got something up their sleeve beyond building to 100.

Would be cool if each night's setlist were limited to songs available during those years. Not that I don't like the new stuff, but that'd be a fun bit.

I think Sturgill has earned the, "Fuck it, I don't even need to hear it first I'm just gonna pre-order it" status I've put him under.

So glad Joe Russo (dog owner) is coming to town. Love JRAD to death. Not sure it’s something I’d travel for, but really happy they’re playing down the street a bit.

I get what this person is going for, but this way overcorrects the problem. I remember being elementary school aged and being assigned a pretty old book with very exalted, flowery English and I loathed it. It was something way over my reading level and it made me a reluctant reader for a while.
Meanwhile, on threads, which actually is like what people on twitter think bluesky is like, a "teacher, author, poet" speaks...

Imagining all the lot merch playing on Savannah Bananas.

Savannah looks like the #phish move for me. Anybody want to hotel up together?

Not looking good over. A friend and I signed on at the same time. I was 62,000 and she was 2300. This is all such bullshit

Been wanting to be a headlight on a northbound train since I was in school.

Roddy Bottum’s book talk was a damn delight. After his intro and readings, it went into an “in conversation” segment with Brian Teasley, drummer for Man? Or Astroman and The Polyphonic Spree. Brian steered the conversation masterfully into a lot of insightful commentary.

As a person of rather fair complexion, I love an overcast day for sports. Also, first baseball of the year!
