Mostly music, but also sports. Also a decent bit of book talk, outdoorsy stuff, etc. Not FJM.

My teams: Falcons, Hawks, Blue Jays, Atlanta United, PAOK, Alabama, UAB
Imagining all the lot merch playing on Savannah Bananas.

Savannah looks like the #phish move for me. Anybody want to hotel up together?

Not looking good over. A friend and I signed on at the same time. I was 62,000 and she was 2300. This is all such bullshit

Been wanting to be a headlight on a northbound train since I was in school.
“is there a technology that the left is excited about?”

Trains. We love trains, actually

Here's your yearly reminder that an alligator is a reptile, except during Lent when it's a fish.

Today's #TicketStubWed is Flaming Lips at Iron City in Birmingham, AL 11 years ago today on 2/18/15.

Roddy Bottum’s book talk was a damn delight. After his intro and readings, it went into an “in conversation” segment with Brian Teasley, drummer for Man? Or Astroman and The Polyphonic Spree. Brian steered the conversation masterfully into a lot of insightful commentary.

As a person of rather fair complexion, I love an overcast day for sports. Also, first baseball of the year!

I’ve never met a single person who is like “Hell yeah, the pregame music at this sporting event sounds like a robot orgy served at a volume that would make Metallica wince.” And yet this is the formula for every stadium in the United States no matter how big or small.

Andy Kennedy's frustration with lackluster play at home has boiled over into public comments. Will be interesting to see how this plays out for him.

This is so true.

I remember being a young adult and seeing a Stax documentary at some point and seeing him do the intro at the Wattstax concert from 1972 and just being blown away by him and couldn't imagine why he'd been painted in the way he had been when I was growing up. RIP Revered Jackson.

Been listening to a lot of Okkervil River lately. Will Sheff looks so much more hippie than his music sounds.

Would a Birminghamian or Atlantan like to join me to see Gianmarco Soresi at The Variety Playhouse on April 30? I think he's one of the funniest people going right now and I'm willing to drive to see him because I just don't think he's gonna be hitting my town any time soon (if at all.)

I'm going to an book signing tonight for Roddy Bottum's new book. Do I bring my 30+ year old Faith No More ticket stub for him to sign too or is that lame AF.

Since we're talking Tame Impala this morning, it's always a good time to drop Kevin Parker chiming in on a meme basically acknowledging that his life was wildly different with success.

Speaking of Tame Impala, Currents has me up in some emotions today 👀

If Tame Impala can prevent overpriced resales, then your favorite band can too.

6. It’s not even up for discussion. No one can seriously think it’s anyone else right?

A guy I know did these 6’ x 4’ animal portraits by shooting a .22 rifle through aluminum sheets. Definitely didn’t take any planning or obsessive attention to detail for prolonged amounts of time.

I keep seeing stories about the mountains of unsold World Cup tickets and then you log onto the site and it’s $2,050 per ticket for nosebleed seats to Haiti vs Morocco. Vultures.

Today is both Ice-T's and John McEnroe's birthday and somehow Ice-T is older (by a year.) McEnroe has seemed old forever. Maybe it's the cantankerousness.
