Mostly music, but also sports. Also a decent bit of book talk, outdoorsy stuff, etc. Not FJM.

My teams: Falcons, Hawks, Blue Jays, Atlanta United, PAOK, Alabama, UAB
Hate that I can’t go see Willie Watson at Saturn tonight. If any of y’all are going, @mrpeege.bsky.social perhaps, I’m gonna need a full report

I'm from the South, but saw them in some old minor league hockey arenas in these parts BITD, so hopefully I get that cred too 😜

Going to go ahead and call Love Chant by The Lemonheads the comeback of the year. It's been a hot minute since they've put anything out. A couple of those late albums were OK, but not on par with their 80s/90s output, but Love Chant has some absolute bangers that stand with some of their best songs.

Both teams playing with massively depleted rosters, but Luka Donćić is playing so it’s worth the trip IMO.

Rob Halford deserves $5 billion way more than any tech bro.

If you see this, post an album cover with a motor vehicle on it

Listening to Evan Dando’s biography. Pretty good so far. One fun fact I learned: the second Lemonheads show ever was with The Pixies on the bill. It was also the second Pixies show ever. Wild coincidence.

Might as well throw that #lastFMfriday up too while I’m thinking about it….

My #CDfriday entry arrived in the mail yesterday in the form of Lotto, the new album from They Are Gutting A Body of Water (TAGABOW). I love this band so much.

I have a pair of tickets for The Autumn Defense in Atlanta on Sunday that I need to sell. It’s Pat Sansone and John Stirratt from Wilco. First time they’ve toured in forever. I paid $65 for the pair, but will entertain offers. It’s an early show (6pm) at Eddie’s Attic.

Their best album IMO. I don’t listen to them very often anymore, but when I do it’s almost always this record. The only time I saw them was on that tour. I won tickets off of the radio too.

Today’s #TicketStubWed is Marcel Khalife on Georgia Tech’s campus 18 years ago. Khalife is a Lebanese oud player and composer. Check out some of his small ensemble stuff like Jadal or a larger scale orchestral work like Concerto al Andalus. Took someone on a date to this show and she was perplexed 🤣

I have to get to Montana next summer. Sixteen Horsepower, one of my favorite bands, is playing their first show in 21 years 😍

I saw them on a couple of great bills BITD. Have seen them recently too and they're still very good, just most of the lineup is different now.

1992: opening for Faith No More
1994: Headlining with Rollins Band and Les Claypool as openers

RIP to Donna Jean Godchaux, the OG queen of jamband music. Love love love the Grateful Dead and her contributions. Also, extra proud of her as a fellow Alabamian.

My current Blue Jays hat is dingy and needs replacing. Help me select my next one.
