In some cases, it takes far more time to work with an AI result. I've had to ask coworkers to stop sending me, "The AI says the law in New Mexico is x, is that right?" questions. It's not right about 80% of the time, and it's so much more time-consuming to prove a negative than to look up a statute.
suspect a big reason why many academics and others who work in areas where getting facts RIGHT is key are disinterested in using LLMs for research:
