Appreciation post for @aftynbehn.bsky.social! What an incredible candidate, organizer, and leader. She scared the entire regime and all their donors. The swing we're seeing tonight implies a blue tsunami next year if Dem voters choose fighters like Aftyn in the coming primaires. Thank you Aftyn!!!
We’re so grateful to @aftynbehn.bsky.social for running an incredible grassroots campaign that made Republicans sweat in a deep-red district. Thank you to everybody in #TN07, across Tennessee, and nationwide for making this special election closer than anyone imagined it could be.

If you knew, read, or wrote that #TN07 went for Trump by 22 points last year, that's almost certainly thanks to The Downballot's complete collection of presidential results for all 435 congressional districts—a massively difficult project we undertake every four years.

TN07 is a story about gerrymandering: the GOP cracked Nashville into 3 districts when it redrew the 2022 map, destroying the Dem seat there.

Fast-forward: a section of Nashville, which just 5 years ago had a Dem representative, is now voting Dem by huge margins but it's been designed to not matter.

the avg special swing for special elections in the 2026 cycle is 13 points to the left, according to The Downballot -- so we are seeing an above average shift here in TN-07, even with Trump's late intervention docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

Heard the same; this is what I mean by inches from the finish line; scheduled for the final citizenship oath ceremony and now suddenly that date is cancelled and people don't know what will happen next.
Our office has clients caught up in this. Hearing from colleagues nationwide about people having their naturalization oath ceremonies canceled. Some of the affected people aren't even subject to the travel ban due to other acquired citizenship, but they are still being caught up.
The Trump admin has paused all immigration and naturalization processes for people from one of the 19 travel ban countries; including Cuba and Venezuela.

Even people who fully passed the citizenship exam are having their cases put on hold, just inches from the finish line.

Scoop: The Trump administration has paused all immigration applications filed by people from 19 countries banned from travel to the United States earlier this year, halting green card and U.S. citizenship processing for broad swaths of people.

More coming soon.

Florida DOT, like the current US DOT, is doing what it can to reverse the very feeble efforts US cities have made to dedicate road space to users other than drivers.
WOW: It appears that the Florida Department of Transportation and state Republicans used a flawed study to illegally dismantle dedicated bus lanes along a federally funded BRT project that was completed on time and under budget

FDOT study used to scrap SunRunner lane ‘incomplete,’ ‘unfair’, experts say
The dedicated bus lane on Pasadena Avenue was removed after the state said there was a rise in crashes.

The longer this goes on, the more likely the Court sides with Texas. After all, Justice Alito's administrative stay while the Court considers the issue has let everyone proceed as though the new maps will be in place.

I expect a stay and dissents.
6 days from the Texas candidate filing deadline, and somehow it's still crickets from the Supreme Court. We're now 11 days after Alito issued the administrative stay on the lower court order.

This 2028 possibility is Trump’s favorite Democrat
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s decision to work with the White House stands in stark contrast to potential 2028 rivals such as California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker.

Just say “we will ensure justice is done” and then note that Trump has no authority to issue pardons for various non-American tribunals
dems should start saying that presidential pardons dont apply to international war crimes and in fact implicate the president, no idea if thats true but they should start saying it

We now have an unprecedented level of income & wealth inequality.

It isn’t acceptable that the top 1% owns more wealth than the bottom 93%, while a majority of Americans live paycheck to paycheck.

We must stand together & create an economy that works for all, not just the few.

there's no reason to not at least try and cry foul
For some reason Democratic leaders seem to prefer telling voters what they won’t be able to do, rather than what they’d like to do.

If Hegseth ordered a war crime and lied about it, shouldn’t Ds try for impeachment? Put Rs on the spot. They might get a few defections.

the thing that really drives people mad is that the base understands you need to always be screaming at the top of your lungs about the headline of the day and/or your preferred message but our electeds absolutely hate the idea of...doing politics 24/7, the thing they unequivocally signed up for
Trump "self disqualification" failed because social media gave Americans the brains of a goldfish. Play the cards you're dealt.

There's zero conflict here. Shri Thanedar said he was considering it (he did a Trump one earlier this year that Jeffries whipped against). Jeffries also said he's opposed and dishonestly claimed it couldn't get a vote even though that's not true. Thanedar and Jeffries are two different people.
