I feel like the Hawley op-ed affair was a precursor to this moment.

This is utterly disgusting. Kelly should be forever shunned for this. As the mother of a teen girl - not to mention someone who suffered SA in my early teens - I can say, definitively, that a grown man who tries to have sex with a 15 year old CHILD belongs in jail!

When the UK brought in elected PCCs it seemed like a really bad sign of Americanisation. We get calls to elect judges or whoever occasionally in Australia but it never goes anywhere or is taken seriously.
