Cenobite 1: Check this shit out. I made my cup of coffee just a bit too hot to do more than sip, but I am forcing myself to take bigger sips than I would like.

Cenobite 2: Ooooh that is good. What if you took these bigger sips while looking at porn tho

Cenobite 1: GENIUS

the reason the republicans want to quintuple the size of ICE is not to do immigration enforcement but to conduct a coup

1. Stonewall National Monument took down trans flags and progress pride flags, opting only to fly the rainbow pride flag.

It erases the trans people who led the Stonewall uprising.

Thankfully, New Yorkers have been bringing their own and planting them.

Trump Took Stonewall’s Trans Flags. New Yorkers Brought Their Own.
It is impossible to separate the transgender community from the history of Stonewall, no matter how hard the government may try.

it's going to be so cool watching what the post-LLM electorate looks like
underrated how much of the modern coalitional alignment is just random. people who have no attachment to reality whatsoever voting on issues that are not real.
I guess politicians would have to try, but I propose it is not particularly easy to leverage Glonzo and raising the salience could backfire

For example re: the draft, Democrats already ended up entirely saddled with this issue despite the fact the other guy ran on crushing Gaza and invading Mexico

I love how the pitch for AI remains "it's cool if you don't mind a few mistakes," like every normal human being is not aware that enough mistakes will get them fired. It's like all of human industry is being replaced by the boss's shitty nephew

MASSIVE good news for trans people in the United States.

A federal judge has just granted class action status to transgender people looking to update their passports.

This means that very shorty, the window will open to update your passports with the correct gender marker.

My favourite one like this is Don Henley getting Brian to autograph a copy of Pet Sounds. Brian signed it "thanks for all the great music" then thought for a second, crossed out "great", and wrote "good"
My favourite Brian Wilson story was when Bono kneeled at his feet backstage & waxed lyrical about his influence, the power of music, transcendent, etc.
After several minutes of this he interrupted Bono by saying “Say, could you go get me a Coke?”
(In fairness, he apparently did)

On May 29, 2025, atmospheric CO₂ concentration at the Mauna Loa Observatory reached 430.71 ppm.

When I was born in 1991, the global average was around 355 ppm.

A cataclysmic geological shift in just three decades, and no serious effort to « flatten the curve » here.
