Since we're having a troll storm, why not pay a visit to my dissertation's new location on Scholarworks?

It's about how white supremacist extremism is mainstreamed via framing.

It was downloaded over 200 times before they moved it.

Writing about it while observing it irl was very stressful.
A Friendlier White Genocide Myth: How Framing Influences Support for Bigoted Immigration Policy
<p>The White Genocide Myth (WGM) is one of the most popular conspiracy theories among White supremacists and other antisemites, yet narratives derived from it are regularly featured in mainstream immi...

Remember that the majority of anti-vaxxers are themselves vaccinated against diseases like polio, diphtheria, measles, mumps, and rubella.

It’s only their kids they choose to put at risk.

It’s very enervating to watch intelligent and educated people play dumb about this amidst the ascendance of a far-right reactionary movement driven by antisocial Silicon Valley psychos and Miami crypto scammers who all treat women as status symbols on the same level as NFTs and Labubus.
he’s a provider of access to money, connections and beautiful women and girls — everything that these people need to affirm their own status. being rich and powerful is a grift which requires other to bolster & buy in. That’s the service Epstein provided.
Something that’s so striking in these emails is how…unimpressive Epstein is. He comes off as a pompous, sub-literate lech. Yes everyone is so mortifyingly solicitous of him! All fawning and flattery! Why?????

This is one of the weirder bits of fundamentalist rhetoric. There's an school of thought in several churches including some old Catholic ones that women are supposed to suffer because of Eve. I am not telling you it makes sense. I am telling you he's parroting a line that is a giant warning sign
JD Vance is working for Big Menstrual Cramps and maybe that's not even a joke
JD Vance calls ibuprofen "useless medication" and implies it's not "necessary, safe and effective."

crusader tattoo guys vs nordic pagan beardos is a type of right wing internecine conflict I hadn't expected, but which seems so obvious in retrospect
Hegseth: "We don't need to be a military of beardos anymore. Do you know how many troops claim to be Nordic Pagan? No, suddenly it's become this real fake religious affiliation inside the Pentagon where troops came to be Nordic Pagan so they can grow a beard and nobody challenges them on it."

Am I lifting the boxes or are the boxes uplifting me?

You know, repeatedly extending good faith to a bad faith actor isn't noble or wise

It's the behavior of children, idiots, and collaborators.

Drawing your attention to collaborators.

If you find yourself asking "how could so-and-so fall for this again?!" consider maybe they didn't.

You know what?

New theory of US politics

Positions in government are especially attractive to twin flames & the Ds got the chasers while the Rs got the runners & we're all getting caught up in their karmic maelstrom

I don't believe it but whatever. Let's have some fun with polisci

Distress levels are high on the timeline.

Maybe you should check in on your body right now & see what you need in terms of food, water, etc.

It's okay to go to bed early when you're suffering from bullshit poisoning. I recommend it.

Far right propagandists don’t need to attain power.
The result is the same if they can successfully
seed their ideologies in the existing body politic.

40 years ago we’d have congressional hearings falsely accusing metal bands of putting backwards messages in their songs that told kids to kill themselves & now we have a planet-killing chatbot that’s all like “bet you won’t commit suicide chickenshit bitch” & the government is like here’s $5 billion

Instead of spending all that time & energy explaining basic humanity to people who don't want to listen, consider finding someone who is already fighting the good fight & giving them a hug or a sandwich or help or something

Maybe people who value humanity are just a better investment
I need folks to understand that some people look at ChatGPT's role here & think "Who cares? That's a negligible loss of users."

Some folks truly have mentally reduced every other human to numbers & transactions

Do not focus on convincing those folks to be less awful. Spend that energy elsewhere.
Panera’s moderately caffeinated lemonade was loosely associated with 2 deaths before it was taken off market.

This article alone has 4 examples of ChatGPT encouraging young people to commit suicide, and OpenAI’s own public stats estimate over a million users discuss suicide with ChatGPT each week.

I fully believe in the corporate death penalty and believe we would be a better world if OpenAI lost its corporate charter and was forcibly dissolved.

So many artists, writers, and designers I know have learned this lesson the tedious way, so let me co-sign this and say not only is it a huge waste of time and labor to listen to the "I'd buy that" crowd online, you will also lose money. Make what *you* want to make, everything else is noise
The biggest thing i've learned as an artist who sells prints and merch is don't make what people ask for. They won't buy it. Make what you, the artist, want to see printed on the support of ur choice.
I can't explain why but THAT'S what will sell. People who buy the most are the silent ones. 🫶
Remember, artists: when people say, “I’d buy a print of this,” they don’t mean it. That sentence itself is just a weird compliment that rarely converts to an actual print sale. It’s like if someone ate a very good hot dog and then said, “I could eat 10,000 of these right now.”

Maybe we can stop pretending there is a distinction here?
