Hope everyone had a merry Christmas
ICE detain father shopping on Christmas Eve—then steal his family's groceries.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

Never seen this so devastatingly and lucidly articulated.
Essentially, I think that LLM-generated dialogue only makes sense if you believe that the product of writing is words.

But the product of writing isn't words, any more than the product of justice is prisoners, or the product of love is weddings. The product of writing is meaning.
I had five fascinating conversations for this RPS piece, gathering perspectives on genAI chatbots in games, as seen in Where Winds Meet. Thanks to @meghna.bsky.social, @pyrofoux.bsky.social, @maxkreminski.bsky.social, and @chrisgardiner.bsky.social www.rockpapershotgun.com/horrible-bor...

Hey I like this thread!!
I am not a Christian of course but like all Americans I have spent my life marinating in Christian mythography, and so around this time of year I have a lot of thoughts about the Nativity and the part where the innkeeper says there's no room in the inn.

IS TED OK? has reached that supremely awkward time in its release/ordering schedule where issue 2 has been solicited well before issue 1 has dropped. It's just the way it is--obviously if you read the issue description you might have some plot stuff spoiled. It's a banger, though.

A Merry Christmas from me & @pye.bsky.social who finished up this Double Page Spread sneak-peak of the forthcoming PETROL HEAD: SECOND GEAR (and added some snow, just because). Have a good one, everyone.

As a longtime DC fan (and occasional DC creator) I am thrilled at the success of the Absolute line, but please, please let the takeaway from its success be that doing something new and challenging can sell comics and not just "let's take our familiar characters and make them darker and grimmer".

All the kids are doing heroin, so it only makes sense that teachers do it too
We know students, like the rest of the world, are using AI. Teachers need to be equipped to deal w/all the issues AI creates. Our approach starts with maximizing safety & privacy and empowering educators to make educational decisions, so AI tools can benefit not harm www.nbcnews.com/tech/tech-ne...
AI has become the norm for students. Teachers are playing catch-up.
At a New York City training session, educators explored how artificial intelligence could support teaching while also discussing their concerns around the technology.

Seems like a good day to remind everyone that Trump has sued over jokes, tweets, interviews, and news articles but not once over any of the countless accusations of child rape. — That silence says everything.

“He raped me.”

“Donald J Trump had raped her along with Jeffrey Epstein.”

“She was found with her head ‘blown off’… there was no way it was a suicide.”

Now we’re starting to see why Trump was hiding the Epstein files, and it probably gets much worse.

They posted a faked video of Epstein committing suicide. If that isn’t a confession that Trump’s DoJ had him killed I don’t know what is.

More people have died in ICE detention in 2025 than any year since 2004.

The government has a legal and moral obligation to provide people in its custody with medical care and livable conditions.
Four ICE detainee deaths in four days spark alarm as arrests grow
At least 30 detainees have died in 2025, prompting concerns about deteriorating conditions at facilities even as the agency has received an infusion of cash from Congress.

The fact that the egregious evil of the American healthcare system and how brazen robbery and extortion like this is just accepted as a fact of life without nationwide open revolt is one of those little things that makes me feel like I’m going insane whenever I’m reminded of it.
I fell off a ladder in August. The bill for the 1.7 mile ambulance ride is $4387.31.

Our $4500 per MONTH Cigna insurance won’t pay more than $600, because the ambulance is out of network.

There are no in-network ambulances in our county, and I was unconscious when it was called.
