Hello #portfolioday.
I’m Dave and I’ve written/drawn a bunch of critically-acclaimed graphic novels.
I’m collaborating on my two newest books, SPECTRUM and PLAGUE HOUSE and would be hyped to line up some more work. I finish what I start!
I also need an agent for some upcoming pitches!!

A reminder that this anti-trans panic is 100% bullshit and exactly none of our country’s problems are related to someone expressing their gender identity and everyone who isn’t a hate-filled weirdo knows it.

And unlike the rancid, anti-democratic Senate, every House member is up for reelection next year. An approach I’d consider is focusing attn. on your REP. (if you have a Cave Senator™️ [PA, IL, ME, NV, NH, VA]) & instruct them to (figuratively) torture your Cave Senator (if said Rep. wants your vote)
To be clear: the deal they voted on to move forward last night still needs to be formally voted on in the Senate and House. If the eight are your senators, they should be hearing from you this morning!

seems to me that those democrats inclined not to fight perceive themselves as living through a somewhat ordinary cycle of presidential overreach and backlash and not something much more significant and dangerous

He is a computer safety researcher.
And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

So, uh, I use Strathmore 500-series Vellum Bristol board, 11x17, for my comic pages, and lately…for some reason…it’s gotten really scarce and expensive. I have a decent stack of boards still but, if it stays this way by and I use up that stack…what is a good alternative?? 😕

Angry as I am with Hassan, Shaheen, et al., the GOP is trying to deny SNAP payments to recipients and to block states' efforts to pay them. They are literally determined to starve the people they see as undeserving.
I've made my position very clear tonight that I think the healthcare fight is too important to leave to a "maybe" future vote but this is absolutely right.
And it's why blame MUST be placed first and foremost on the GOP and their merciless hostage-taking.

From a political point of view, I don't think the Dem management of the shutdown endgame has been good, but it is worth remembering there are real costs (RIP my mentions).

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

You cannot separate the current nightmare we now inhabit from the collapse/crisis in how rich, powerful middle-aged men perceive masculinity, especially their own insecurities.
I’m sorry, but a goofy looking guy who grew up a privileged son of a pediatrician and has a phd in social theory from the university of Goethe and started in tech by investing an inheritance left to him by his grandfather talking about being a “dude” is very, very funny to me.

Here’s a nice clip of my trumpet playing—unaccompanied improvising over the song “Polkadots and Moonbeams.” The footage was taken for a separate promo video so it’s shaky at times but it sounds nice, so I’m sharing it!

RIP Sly Stone. What an icon--one of those "seed" figures in music history, a stone that hit the pond whose ripples are still felt in popular music to this day.

141 pages now. Thumbnailing the gigantic last issue right now.
115 pages inked and lettered for [REDACTED], with 93 of those pages colored. This book, you guys, THIS BOOK is going to destroy you. I'm not quite in the home stretch yet, but it's exciting to make this progress.

Starting to suspect anyone vowing to abolish ICE and prosecute these fuckers would win in a historic landslide
One thing I have marveled at is the way that crowds have been disciplined in capturing immigration enforcement’s lack of discipline.
