truly shocked that a preening buffoon with enough self-regard to produce two memoirs before the age of 40 believes that being being fat or overweight is a moral failure and that one must engage in cleansing struggle to become healthy.
Ozempic’s primary function is to make it easier to eat healthy, and by extension to exercise. Have seen these drugs work miracles for friends. Feel quite certain there are people in this smug ignoramus’s life who have benefited as well.

The antiabortion movement has always been in part about white supremacy. It's all connected.

IT IS ALL ONE FIGHT.

THERE HAS ONLY EVER BEEN ONE FIGHT.
I said it in today's nl and I'll say it again: the anti-abortion movement is a eugenicist project that aims to eliminate, by any means necessary, those wombs that cannot be controlled and forced into compliance. They have no use for women with cancer, because they don't consider those wombs useful.

Needs to be a country wide push to make public housing, banking, healthcare, transit, postal service, education, and the arts alongside it. A wholesale rebranding of the commons outside of them being a place for public branding.
Public funding of journalism is the only real solution. Every other solution will only fill a tiny part of a big hole. Best way to spend our time is figuring out how to make large scale public funding of news possible.

This right here.

As experts like @katharinehayhoe.com and others have pointed out, the knowledge deficit model simply does not work.

COVID, climate change, Jan 6, it doesn't matter.

This should be a foundational piece of knowledge for any academic, advocacy, and journalistic work.

The deafening silence of the US media establishment as Israel carries out the most sustained attack on journalism in modern history should be a source of lasting shame. I wrote about it for @thenation.com www.thenation.com/article/soci...
The US Media Is Ignoring Israel’s Campaign to Kill Palestinian Journalists
Israel is trying to snuff out journalism in Gaza. This should be a sound-the-alarm, all-hands-on-deck moment for anyone who professes to support reporters and the work that they do.

The nurse at my mother’s dermatologist office told her she had to remove her mask before he’d see her for an examination of a spot on…her foot.
Almost nothing about our current pandemic moment is more baffling or enraging to me than healthcare professionals being hostile to masking within healthcare facilities
Was just at my doctor's office, none of the staff or doctors masking, and all of them telling me, incredulously, "You don't have to wear that mask!" as if doing me a favor. YEAH HI THIS IS WHERE ALL THE SICKNESS LIVES, SANDRA. Also I'm sick?? WTF???

Before deciding whether to approve it, the Energy Department will analyze the climate impacts of CP2, one of 17 proposed LNG export terminals.

The NYT did five dozen stories on the president of Harvard who was *not* a court-determined rapist so we should probably see a few more on this?

Or does it not count because Trump’s rape victim went to a state school? Is the story beneath them?
I know “found liable for rape in a court” isn’t as big a story as “rumored to have poor email security” but maybe the press can give this as much attention as they gave that?
This is a good question that all local reporters should be asking in their coverage — “did Trump have to register as a sex offender here?”
