A coda:

"Part of why [Biographer] Guerrero was able to speak with so many of Miller’s acquaintances—including his estranged uncle David Glosser, who has compared his nephew to the Nazis—is that Miller is so unrepresentative of the world he grew up in." www.thenation.com/article/poli...

I had a blast talking to @davidklion.bsky.social & Ronnie Grinberg about the legacy of Norman Podhoretz, who died last week and whose historical importance is underrated even among his fellow neo-cons. www.thenation.com/podcast/poli...

the influential lib-turned-paleocon-hawk Norman Podhoretz died this week. I think about @davidklion.bsky.social's assessment of his memoir quite often: jewishcurrents.org/the-making-a...

My first job out of college was securing permission to republish content in textbooks. One time as part of the job I talked to him on the phone, asking to reprint some ancient piece of his. He was reluctant to agree because he basically said he no longer believed what he had written, lol.

For @thenation.com, here's my obituary of Norman Podhoretz—the last canonical New York intellectual, and the first of a now-familiar breed of discourse demagogue
The Longest Journey Is Over
With the death of Norman Podhoretz at 95, the transition from New York’s intellectual golden age to the age of grievance and provocation is complete.

I was at the Ackman keynote, a squalid affair but also an illuminating one. Wrote it up for @jewishcurrents.bsky.social. Ackman's donations were the obvious subtext of the whole event. jewishcurrents.org/the-end-of-t...

It's so hard to describe this amazing movie, but @davidklion.bsky.social did it. Tho my read of its "when" is that it starts in 2026 & jumps to 2042. The hopeful explosions of the French 75 is where we are; Sensei's careful underground networks is where we're going.
