Mark Fallon is a constant reminder of the pockets of sterling decency in US gov, including during darkest days of torture president Bush, bravely resisting appalling policies when doing so was hardest, then exposing craven failure of Obama to pursue justice. This is what true resistance looks like.
Back in 2016, I interviewed @markfallon.bsky.social, who predicted (based on his experiences at Guantanamo) that without fully documenting and punishing war-on-terror abuses, the US under Obama had only managed to hit pause on some of its atrocities and was destined to continue as a rogue state.
