Given that apparently the Stranger Things finale was meh (idk, didn't watch it, just the scuttlebutt) and we're not that far removed from the disastrous GOT finale that retroactively made everyone have never cared about the show:

In case you're looking for another indication of the current state of our nation I'm on one of the brand new Acela trains and it has some sort of engine problem that is keeping it from going at its expected top speed (which, it must be said, is not as fast as trains in other countries)

a small good thing: I don't know when or how it happened, but the wifi on Amtrak is drastically better than it used to be. I used to not even try, but I have actually been able to get work done and am kinda shocked.

My first job out of college was securing permission to republish content in textbooks. One time as part of the job I talked to him on the phone, asking to reprint some ancient piece of his. He was reluctant to agree because he basically said he no longer believed what he had written, lol.

This past Sunday, from 8am to 8pm, New Yorkers from every corner of our city traveled to the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria to share their dreams, their worries, the change they want to see across New York. It was an honor listening to each of them.
