Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

It continues to tell you everything you need to know about British politics and media that the only person who has ever had to apologise for Nigel Farage's long history of inflammatory and racist comments, is a journalist who accurately reported them as such

We are fighting a losing battle against stupid.

And that's because we're led by a general who thinks out-stupiding stupid is the best strategy.

How's that working out for you Keir? Oh, record low polling and King Stupid on course to become Prime Minister? Who'da seen that coming?

As Henry points out,a long piece about free speech in the UK that doesn’t mention the many, many people arrested for supporting Palestine Action and is entirely framed in right-wing talking points is a dereliction of journalism.
What on Earth is this? An "in depth" BBC article about free speech in the UK that only cites examples of right-wing/ 'anti-woke' speech being suppressed. How can you mention Lucy Connolly but completely ignore Palestine Action / Just Stop Oil? Gob-smacking. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
How the simmering UK freedom of speech row reached boiling point
How did we reach a point where the UK is being compared to a 'tin pot Third World dictatorship'?

Nick Clegg really is the quiet villain of the past decade. A man very evidently motivated by nothing more than individual personal gain but his avoidance of ostentation and utter lack of charisma has essentially kept him off the radar. A dull poorly-suited pillar of feckless greed.

I want to start a new political party that will tax the rich, nationalise public services, and protect workers, the vulnerable, the environment, and the NHS. I was thinking of calling it the Labour Party, but apparently that name's already taken by a group of Tories who won the last election.
