Wanna know why my sympathy for the BBC has run out?
Let me remind you of this little charade, while Boris Johnson was PM, and the head of the BBC secretly helped Darth Bagpuss to organise a secret £800,000 slush fund from a foreign national.

There was a time when I'd have cared deeply about the BBC.
But they adopted a deliberate policy of kowtowing to the right, backing away from every fight, believing compliance would protect the license fee, and the right would leave them alone.
Stand up to bullies, or get knocked down by reality.

Want to know why the prisons system seems to be suddenly falling apart?
Well, it's not sudden. It's just suddenly being REPORTED. This rot was a deliberate policy choice, and I kept the receipts. Because I'm not the BBC.
(A note on what Tories did to cause this, from The Decade In Tory)

I DEMAND Panorama IMMEDIATELY produces a documentary showing Kamala Harris not instigating a violent riot, not sexually assaulting anyone, or getting fined for denying it, or being found guilty of business fraud, or f*cking a porn star AND accepting the result of an election.
You know. For balance.

Nice to see this exclusive report in the Guardian, breaking the news that I reported 3 years ago in "The Decade In Tory" (one of dozens of lucrative, mostly wasted COVID contracts via direct connection to senior Tories).

After a monumental 18 hour final sprint, three days running, I just finished writing the sequel to #BabysBreath.
The first book took me 19 days.
This one took me 32.
(Are you listening, George R. R. Martin?)
Next week: deep read by my better half. Hopefully the week after: published.

Absolutely this. If you want to know why everything everywhere is falling apart right now, you could do worse (and laugh less often) than these three books.

I’ve just read babys breath in one sitting. Excellent, well paced, good characters and lots of modern cultural themes. One very mild annoyance is not knowing the make of Noah’s car!

Baby's Breath update.
Just finished writing chapter 26 (of 34) of the sequel. I think it'll be finished in 2-3 weeks, published before Christmas.
I'm PROPERLY happy with this one.
Don't have a title yet, but ... watch this space!!

Bugonia - what a disappointment. Great performance (as always) from Stone and Plemons, but the whole concept ruined by a limp, obvious script, and a director who seemed to have no idea what tone he was going for. Satire? Comedy? Horror? Tried for all, hit none, and left me utterly cold.
