Today's @liverpoolecho.co.uk front page and four pages inside covers my investigation into men who were convinced to invest thousands into art sales by their neighbour and who never got their money back

You can read the full detailed investigation here

Three men have told me how they were convinced to invest tens of thousands of pounds in the sales of famous Turner paintings by their charismatic neighbour

As the years rolled on, they started to realise things were not going to plan

A truly incredible story here from @liamthorp.bsky.social , involving the claims of three men and how they invested thousands of pounds into proposed art sales by their friend and neighbour, losing nearly all of their money.

I've been working on this investigation for four months. It has taken a huge amount of effort amid ongoing legal battles.

One of the most fascinating tales I've ever covered.

This is a premium article because we hope it shows the kind of detailed investigative journalism people will pay for.

I have extremely dim views of Farage and make this clear regularly. Why is this relevant to this?

In Labour it’s much more difficult to get rid of a sitting PM, you obviously need to have a contender willing to wield the knife and with the support in place. I would think after this, a humbling by-election defeat would focus minds.

No I didn’t know this, my point is they shouldn’t be surprised that a guy with such a reputation was involved in this sort of thing - and should never have appointed him to that position obviously

I’m just shocked that a guy labelled the ‘Prince of Darkness’ is embroiled in all of this,I mean who could have known?

Well apart from the Prime Minister when he made him the UK’s most important diplomat

Righteously brilliant from Crace on Mandelson’s disgrace
No more get-out clauses, no way back. It’s surely the end for Peter Mandelson, finally | John Crace
The only question now is how it took this long for Labour’s greedy, reckless Prince of Darkness to meet his reckoning

Totally your call. All I would say is if you want to see less ‘click bait’ as you call it, you’re going to have to start paying for journalism.
