just saying if one of the 8 folding Dems wants they can use this as an excuse to change their mind and not give Trump exactly what he wants
Buried inside the deal to reopen government is a provision that would give Senators private right of action to sue for millions in damages over their phone records being analyzed by Jack Smith's team.

Any Democratic senator, at any moment, could've derailed this by calling for Schumer's replacement and casting their colleagues as MAGA collaborators, thereby shifting the Overton window. But they're all in on it. This was always a team effort.

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.
Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.

I understand what the roll call vote totals are going to be but if the other Democrats had a problem with this deal they would be withholding unanimous consent on advancing it and loudly naming their colleagues as traitors.

i know it’s not the rosiest take away but there are a lot of people who have been loving this shit, especially the ICE raids, national guard, etc, and those people must be politically brought to heel and taught the hard way that they don’t get to do shit like this.
Ipsos finds Trump’s approval rating is decreasing almost entirely because of anti-incumbent economic anxiety. Approval rating among people who say the economy is the # 1 issue is -24pts since Jan. It’s stable for people who index on all other issues www.ipsos.com/en-us/lesson...

What’s the stupidest thing you’ve ever done? I don’t mean “cheating on your partner” stupid, I mean stupid stupid. Like, once, I had this bubble bath which smelled absolutely delicious, so I took a big glug of it. That kind of stupid. (It did not taste delicious.)

Kat Abughazaleh did, while law enforcement was in heated pursuit, paint what appeared to be the entrance to a cave on a sheer rock wall, causing law enforcement to forcibly bonk into said wall.
COUNT II
The same thing on a different wall, but then a train came out and ran us over???

Those of us with beards are familiar with the “shit I took too much off, time to get rid of all of it” phenomenon
Trump didn’t “change course.” He was always planning to demolish the entire East Wing.
He may end up demolishing the whole damned thing.
