And I swear, once again, this is not dunking on kids. We are seeing this at all levels--even grad students. AI + social media has had a profound impact on how we think and process our world, and we can't stop to reflect on it, because billionaires keep hurling addictive tech at us.

Absolutely true. His supporters are clueless on how deranged the man truly is because no one is talking about it. Especially frustrating how every missed word from Biden was ZOMGHEISMENTALLYILL.
The president is mentally unwell and just says things. He is going to arrest Biden for perjury! He is going to invade Nigeria! He is going to abolish income tax!
The press just ignores this because it isn't serious. But it robs the public of a chance to see how broken everything is.

This seems like the kind of declaration by a U.S. president that should be mentioned *somewhere* on the front page of CNN or the NY Times, but the fact that it isn't (as of right now) tells us so much both about how this president is covered and the credibility of the U.S. government.

The amount of raw egg consumed in Portugal would drive some people nuts. Heck, my brother used to love Gemadas, which are essentially raw yolks beaten with sugar.
After several years of making French Silk Pie for events hosted by my partner's family, he realized (in horror) that my no-bake pie had eggs in it. I explained that my mom taught me to buy the more expensive organic eggs for anything that called for eating raw eggs so it should be fine. (1/2)
Every Thanksgiving I make my mom's French Silk Pie. She got the recipe from her 1st husband (I believe it was originally a family recipe he published in a local newspaper). I vaguely remember an older index card barely held together by tape which was at some point replaced with this one. 1/4

Does anyone know of a lawyer that can help regarding academic dismissals (graduate school) and not following ADA accommodations? My friend’s husband is now thousands of $s in loan debt with no realistic way of finishing his degree, and has exhausted appeal options. School is in TX, he’s in GA.

Great thread and it's worth noting that a common accusation aimed at POC, natives, and other marginalized groups is that they are sexually depraved. The "depravity" in this case isn't the act of assault itself, it's sexual assault being wielded by the "wrong" people, people who shouldn't have power
Like check with any Black historical scholar and you'll quickly see that the entirety of the US is characterized by slavery. Sexual assault is, as we've determined, almost exclusively a tool of subjugation, it's an exercise of power over the powerless. So it's integral to the character of the US.
