impossible to express how humiliating it is to actually take this to court as the border patrol agent who got hit with a sandwich IN his bullet-proof vest. oh i'm sorry, it wasn't a sandwich-proof vest?
🚨🚨🚨 The jury has reached a verdict. Sean Dunn, aka the DC Sandwich Guy, has been found NOT GUILTY of assault.

Composition instructors are being pressured so intensely to deal with AI-related plagiarism that we can't focus on the students who actually want to be there and do the work. We're continually asked to revise assignments to be "un-cheatable" without thinking about what really works for students.

Can folks recommend a good website designer to work with? I like my author site, but I'd like it to be a bit less text-heavy (but still easy to update myself).

What are some social media platforms that are still a bit community-based and haven't been ruined yet?

I just came from a launch event for Community of Praxis where we talked about all the ways we can imagine making peer review better and more responsive but luckily the people at Elsevier are here to make Everything Worse (TM), as is their custom.
Well isn’t this a literal fucking nightmare…

A beauty of setting two projects in the early 90s and late 20s, respectively, is that nobody is answering a cellphone or listening to videos on full volume in public. And I get to talk about BBSs and bakelite.

Lately, I've seen more and more programs advertising something they call "trauma-informed ABA." On the surface, it sounds hopeful. After all, who wouldn't want therapies to be gentler, safer, and more...
