Hate to gatekeep girlboss but it's very obvious they're happily throwing the bloodthirsty Nazi woman under the bus not because of the bloodthirst or Naziism but because as a woman they already see her as a disposable utensil.

Been spending my evenings watching Grantchester. Post-WW2 England, murder mysteries, and a quite interesting cast of characters.

I also love the impossible love story. Reminds me of my favorite love story of all time, and just hits me in the feels.

Three reporters! It took three reporters to land this huge story!

Well, three people roughly in the shape of reporters.

But three!
The level of cope among MAGAs is off the charts. This is the funniest thing I’ve read all week. Imagine calling yourself a journalist and actually signing your name to THIS headline.😅

I swear to God NYPost is trying to put @bencollins.bsky.social and The Onion out of business. 😅😅😅

About 25 percent of the U.S. workforce could now be classified as "functionally unemployed"— meaning they either can't find full-time work or are earning "poverty-level wages," according to a new report.

Millions of Americans are "functionally unemployed"—with numbers rising
According to a recent report, the true rate of unemployment now encompasses over a quarter of the U.S. workforce.

Also why they can’t grasp people protesting without getting paid to do so.
This is why they're here. I've had this discussion many times with neighbors.

They're here because they're cowards who'd run and hide if they encountered someone stronger, with more guns, who could kill them.

They expected us to do that, and don't understand why we don't.

And now they're stuck.
I do think that a possibly underrated dynamic in The Horrors is that the Right as it has reconstituted itself under Trump legitimately can’t understand sincere moral or physical courage

Another worthy thread.

At the end of the day, the Tough Real Men illusion will fall because it’s all smoke and mirrors built on fantasy.
I think @sarahjeong.bsky.social said it's because they devalue women's labor and a LOT of this Scary Logistics stuff comes from people who don't understand that basically all of the civic life they enjoy is created with the help of free labor, largely by women.
Tho I will say, in his defense, he's not the first person to be confused by how quickly the romance authors & readers can whip up finely tuned logistics out of nothing. 😂

This was a worthwhile read.
Other folks have already noted much of this, but I think the MAGA 'theory of victory' here is:
1) DHS provocations trigger a riot or attack on agents which
2) Leads to widespread civil unrest in many 'blue' cities so that
3) Trump can invoke the insurrection act and send in the troops...
Curious if anyone has a plausible theory of victory for the administration if it were to invoke the Insurrection Act.

How does the administration "win" in such a scenario?

Best I can tell, it is magical thinking by a certain somebody at the White House, but maybe I'm missing something.

I would venture a guess that this is also the reason why we see some of the weakest, most cowardly, folks aligning themselves with this ideology, as a way to embolden themselves and live out the illusion that they too are Tough Real Men.
MAGA ideology *requires* that the Army Tough Guys and Real Men In Uniform are (secretly?) undyingly loyal to Trump and MAGA. The ideology *requires* that liberals are decadent, soft, weak and unwilling to risk or endure hardship.

It *requires* that a majority of 'real Americans' support it.

Spanish Conquistador my ass. Our first king beat up his own Spanish mother to create our nation. While the Spanish kingdoms were waffling about, we kicked the Moors out and became one of oldest countries in the world.

These Big Tough European Guy cosplayers are so ridiculous.
The VCs bros have convinced themselves they are on some moral crusade. They will be behind the scenes trying to cling to power in the midterms and beyond.

Side note, they are also the biggest bunch of dorks

There's definitely a bit of Gender at play in why some conservatives are uneasy about today when they were breathing fire about the murder two weeks ago.

I will hate them forever for the constant anger, despair, and heartbreak, too.
there are days my heart breaks and reading that woman's statement, knowing she's terrified to go home, knowing we can't tell her that she's wrong to be terrified...

I believe we are going to win.

I will hate them forever for making us fight.

Not to put too fine a point on it but ... the same people who called wearing a little piece of cloth to save people's lives "government tyranny" ... are the same people cheering on the execution of their fellow citizens in the street by the government.

Bootlickers inevitably swallow the boot whole.

My shocked face. 😑
Pam Bondi just sent a letter to Minnesota officials saying ICE will leave if the state turns over its voter database to Trump.

Guess what? This has never been about safety or immigration. It’s a pretext for Trump to take over elections in swing states.

1. In a major victory, Democrats have managed to get all anti-trans riders stripped from the final appropriations bills.

This includes HHS and Ed, which had the worst provisions in congressional history.

If it passes, it will be a big win for 2026.
