The country is a dumpster fire but today Second Eldest bought her first set of wheels, and did it entirely with her own money. No car payment, no loans, just her hard work and savings. Happy kiddo is happy!

One of the things I miss from back home is the beach. Today, I finally went to one here (Florida panhandle). The sand is whiter than I’m used to and the sea wasn’t as salty, which surprised me. But the familiar roar of the sea and the shimmery sunlight on the water brought back a lot of memories.

Eldest asked me to make soup because I’ve been slacking haven’t made any in quite a while. Portuguese soup is its own thing and doesn’t quite match the American idea of soup. Today I made carrot and green bean soup.
